Porch Cottage in Keswick, Lake District, Cumbria, England - Charming Luxury 17th Century 5 Star Cottage In Keswick
About Stephen Lyle-Mason
We are Stephen & Di Lyle-Mason. Di has lived in this most beautiful town of Keswick since she was 12 years old. It took me a few more years to join her. We have had our Guest House (Stonegarth) since 1990 and purchased our first self catering property, Fernbank House (ref E16680 ) in 1996. We chose this house as we believed there was a gap in the market for a high quality house that could sleep ten. In 2004 we seized the opportunity to purchase Porch Cottage (ref E16717) This grade 2 listed cottage dates back to 1698 and was in need of a complete restoration. We hope you like the results. In 2013 we kept walking past what is now known as River Cottage (ref E16653) . After saying to each other that we really shouldn't get another property, we went for a viewing. The rest as they say is history.
Stephen Lyle-Mason purchased this Cottage in 2004

Beautiful cottage very relaxing stay. Ideal location easy walk into Keswick & to Durwent water.
Would love to stay again.
Lovely home from home
Enjoyed a week in this lovely cottage just walking distance from the heart of Keswick. Lovely shops n cafes and resturants in under 10mins and beautiful walks within 15 mins. Period cottage, clean and luxurious and steeped in history. A wonderful idyll and home from home..
Our week at Porch Cottage was magical. We shared the cottage with another couple, good friends. There was enough space for us to be alone when needed, yet also a great communal feel. The accommodations were modern and comfortable with all sorts of wonderful, little touches, such as a book detailing the history of the building. The views were gorgeous from every room. Town and grocery store were close by. We're ready to come back next year!
Beautiful Cottage in ideal spot for exploring. Very comfortable beds, luxurious bathrooms. Would definitely book again. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Perfect cottage and location.
This is our second and not our last stay at Porch cottage. Beautiful quaint cottage with every mod con you could wish for. A bath so deep you need a pair of flippers! Very very comfortable beds and everywhere spotless. 5 mins slow walk into Keswick with Booths Supermarket and Bus station stones throw away. Perfect in every way.
Absoloutley amazing loved everything about it, espeially the log burner and the new bathrooms
Had a fantastic winter break at the cottage. We could not fault it it was fantastic especially loved coming in form long winter walks to the log burning fire. It was in a fantastic location with easy reach into Keswick where there everything we needed. The two car parking spaces are a great idea also.
