About Rebecca Russell
I have owned this house in Edinburgh since around 2009 but was brought up in the city and and lived and worked there for many years, on and off. I have another holiday let in the spectacular Ullswater Valley of the English Lake District and maintain a very high standard of holiday let.
Why Rebecca Russell chose New Town
We bought this house because it's in an amazingly central, yet peaceful location on a square with no through traffic. There are no neighbours above or below and we have the benefit of an integral single garage.

Great house and location.
A perfect base to explore Edinburgh, an ideal location for the fringe, central yet away from the hustle and bustle. We really enjoyed Stockbridge and staying in this part of town. Having been to Edinburgh many times I would say this has been our favourite location. House was delightful and had everything we needed. Hope to return.
Lovely house and great location
This house is very charming. We enjoyed the period details and the updated modern conveniences. The house had plenty of room for our family of five and we loved the quiet yet close location of this house. We were able to walk to everything and enjoyed the shops and restaurants nearby.
Our family of five adored this house and it was a pleasure to stay here during our fortnight's holiday in Scotland. The location is perfect, a five minute walk down to the center of Stockbridge with a good selection of cafés, restaurants, shops and grocery stores. Or a 10 minute walk up the town to George Street and Princes Street, the center of Edinburgh. The house was outstandingly clean, nicely furnished and decorated, in short, exactly as depicted in the photo gallery. The kitchen is very well equipped and the beds comfortable (which wasn't always the case in the places we stayed at before). The showers and heating worked perfectly fine. Our host Rebecca replied to our questions very fast and was eager to help us in every way she could. We will certainly consider staying at this beautiful litte house again when we visit Edinburgh next year, and happily recommend it to anyone reading this review.

Very comfortable house in a prime location within the new town/beautiful Stockbridge area of the city and within walking distance of Edinburgh city centre. Peaceful and quiet despite its close proximity to the centre of Edinburgh. Very helpful owner. Really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
Very nice place in a quiet part of Edinburgh
The place was very nice, and well suited for a family. It is walking distance to quite a few sites, and if you want to go further there is a bus line just at the bottom of the hill, on Kerr Street.
Perfect location for seeing Edinburgh
Our family of five loved this mews flat. The location was perfect for seeing all the major sights as well as experiencing the lovely village atmosphere in Stockbridge. We hired a car half way through our week-long stay and it was very handy having the garage as other parking in Edinburgh is a nightmare. It was beautifully decorated and the beds were comfy. We couldn't figure out how to work the stove top (as it is very different to the one we have at home and I think we were a bit jet-lagged) but within an hour there was someone at the door to show us how to operate it. (We didn't flick the switch on the wall. Duh.) A very helpful owner and an extremely organized and beautiful place to stay. Loads of character!
Edinburgh Airport is approximately 10 miles away - bus and tram
Waverley station and Haymarket Station are approximately a 10-15 minute walk away
7 Gloucester Square is is Edinburgh's City Centre, in the heart of the beautiful Georgian new town. Edinburgh is a great city to walk around but if you prefer the bus services are excellent as is the new tram system.
Central Edinburgh has all the shopping and restaurants your heart desires and is a short walk away. However 7 Gloucester Square is also very well situated for the 'village' of Stockbrige, a bustling and vibrant area with lots of quirky shops, quality food stores and great places to eat and drink.
