Rumpus Cottage, Swanage, Dorset, England - Located Close To All Amenities, Within Walking Distance to Town And Beach
About Caroline Young
I spent many years as a child taking holidays in Swanage and have fond memories of swimming in the sea and exploring the Jurassic coastline. Visits to Tilly Whim Caves and the Globe at Durleston were a favourite and a must every holiday. Swanage is a great place to escape and relax. I enjoy spending time walking along the seafront and exploring new places in an around Swanage.
Why Caroline Young chose Swanage
A Grade II listed cottage with unique charm and original features especially the beams in the master bedroom sold the property to me. The cottage dates back to the Georgian period and retains many original features. It is situated in the oldest part of Swanage within walking distance to local amenities, the town centre and seafront.
What makes this Cottage unique
This is a charming period cottage retaining the original character in a quiet cul de sac in a great location.

We enjoyed a lovely week at the cottage. Everything was great and very comfortable
Absolutely wonderful, clean and extremely well equipped
A beautiful cottage in an excellent location, really nicely finished property with fantastic features, they’ve thought of everything. Dog and humans all provided for really well. Like a home away from home! Can’t recommend enough!
Very cosy and well looked after cottage in an ideal area for local amenities.
Four lovely days in Swanage. Easy walk from cottage to buses and train station so didn't use our car. Very handy shop for the odd for groceries etc. within a few yards. The cottage was very clean and nicely furnished with good quality bed linen and towels. We enjoyed our stay very much and will certainly visit again.
Beautiful but very small
Happy with everything but sitting room furniture very hard so unable to sit in comfort in the evening so couldn’t relax
Rustic cottage in central Swanage which is walking distance from the beach, pubs, railway and centre
We had a lovely relaxing 3 night stay at Rumpus Cottage. The cottage is quaint with lots of interesting items and everything we needed was in the cottage and easy to find.
Beautiful walks along the coast with our dog in the day and snuggled in the warm cosy lounge in the evening.
We ate at both the Love Cake cafe and the Black Swan both walking distance and highly recommmended.
A beautiful cottage located conveniently near to the high street & beach. We loved it.
We absolutely loved our stay at Rumpus Cottage. The cottage was really lovely and we'll equipped, and it's location is ideal for both the beach and high street. The stairs are very steep, but this just added to the charm of the cottage which we couldn't fault in any way. I would definitely recommend Rumpus Cottage to anyone, we loved every minute of our stay here and can t wait to stay here again.
A short walk less than 10 minutes from the beach and shops.
Award winning 2 mile sandy beach with safe bathing.
