Michelle Proctor purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Michelle Proctor chose Whitstable
We fell in love Whitstable after staying in this beautiful coastal town during 2013. We enjoy wandering through the quaint high street, with it's independent shops and fantastic restaurants.
What makes this Cottage unique
We bought Sherbet Cottage in 2013. The location of the cottage is perfect, 2 minutes walk to the harbour, beach and high street. With it's own parking space at the cottage, this relieves any parking stress during high season.

Lovely, homely house
The house was clean, comfortable and stylish. We enjoyed relaxing in the lounge by the fire. The Apple TV was a nice luxury for watching films. We’d like to come back to enjoy the garden in the summer. Although the house has 3 good sized bedrooms, I would imagine that it might be a squeeze for 6 people. For 4 people it would be great.
What a beautiful cottage.
Myself and two girlfriends spent an amazing couple of days in Whitstable. I have been visiting Whitstable the same weekend each year for 6 years now and I have to say this is the nicest place I've stayed so far. The cottage is very well equipped, cosy & very welcoming especially coming in after a long cold walk. I cant recommend it highly enough. We will certainly be back. Thank you.
Gorgeous Cottage to spend the weekend in
We visited Sherbet Cottage for a long weekend with our Parents for their Anniversary
and had a wonderful memorable time, they are quite old and we wanted a house near the town so we could stroll out easily. Sherbet Cottage ticked all the boxes, super comfortable and stylishly kitted out. Lovely little extras added around making this feel like a well loved house/home. I would highly recommend this as an idyllic stay in Whitstable many thanks to Michelle. :-)
perfect spot to stay in the town
We enjoyed the comfort, quietness and style of the cottage. It was particularly good as we were attending a wedding on one of the three days we spent there so an iron, multiple hairdryers and good mirrors were appreciated. We were only minutes on foot from the venue at East Quay - perfect.
The cottage is perfectly placed to explore the town on foot. The parking space an asset if you are arriving in the town by car. Beds and bed linen were extremely comfortable. Thank you for such attention to detail.
The one downside was the downstairs bathroom/loo. Luckily one of us was very short in stature so fitted under the shower perfectly. That aside, it was a lovely light bathroom adjacent to the super, private garden.
I would highly recommend Sherbet Cottage to anyone who wishes to go out and about in Whitstable and, due to the wonderful parking space, as a base to explore East Kent in general.
Beautifully presented cottage with everything on your doorstep!
Sherbet Cottage is a little gem. It's a beautifully decorated, very clean cottage tucked away in the little quiet streets of fisherman's cottages. It has been very well thought through and has everything you will need for your stay....with the added bonus of its own mini sweet shop! It's so comfortable and pleasant that you really will enjoy spending time in it come the evening. We ate dinner in the pretty back garden- small but secluded. Watched a movie on Netflix in the lounge then played board games in the front room.
A short stroll leads you to the beautiful high street, filled with independent boutiques, cafes and art shops. The seafront is just a stones throw away. The beach is clean and unspoiled and, to our surprise , reasonably quiet considering it's August!
The only draw back is the lack of second bathroom but I would imagine it would be architecturally impossible to add this due to the period design and proportion of the cottage.
We had a delightful stay and would happily return. Highly recommended!!
Delightful cottage and so near to everything we wanted in Whitstable.
Lovely cottage, just as described. Very comfortable and well equipped with lovely comfortable beds . We wanted to be quite central, easy walking distance to harbour and sailing club, which it really was.
Parking space was an added bonus. Would definitely recommend.
Special interest holidays:
Quite simply, Whitstable is unlike any other town you will visit by the sea and it manages to offer something for everyone. It is best known for its native oysters and its annual Whitstable Oyster Festival but it also benefits from a strong arts culture embodied by the numerous independent Whitstable galleries and craft shops and has a rich maritime history. Whitstable boasts spectacular sunsets and miles of beaches and its distinctive character and ambience is all within easy reach of the city (60 miles east of London).
As you're by the sea, why not take a beginners course in sailing, windsurfing or kitesurfing? Whitstable has excellent conditions for water sports and Whitstable Yacht Club is a good place to start. If you are looking to buy suitable clothing and accessories for anything and everything marine related, there's no better place to go than the Dinghy Store. Whitstable Marine just next door, can provide everything from kayaks to water-ski equipment.
Walking distance to the harbour and beach.
Whitstable has a direct fast train service from London which takes just over an hour, there are services from train stations including Victoria and St. Pancras.
Travelling to Whitstable by road is also easy with the M2 motorway only moments away from the town.
