Great Ocean views from every room!

The 13th of Summer is a romantic get-away or a comfy family holiday cottage on the Marin/Sonoma coast. Be awed-

Dramatic views of the Pacific Ocean, waves rushing up the shore. Grand sunsets from hug picture windows or even better from the deck with a glass of wine!

It's just a short five minute stroll to the beach.

When not watching sunsets or the sea, guests can enjoy any of the dozens of books—fiction and non-fiction and current magazines. The cottage is filled with original paintings and sculpture by local artists. No need to work at a wood burning fire. An environmentally conscience gas burning stove is romantic for that fire-wood stove look, warmth and ambiance. The energy efficient gas heater keeps the cottage cozy.

Take a nap; watch the waves.! The westerly living room has an extra long down filled sofa, huge soft chair w/ ottoman and oak rocker. Lots of lamps make reading and close work enjoyable. The view is wonderful. The easterly sitting area is a cozy conversation or media area and has an overstuffed chair with ottoman and love seat.

A gas range and refrigerator are in the kitchen. From the sink is a view of the front garden and from the stove, the sea. Phones for local calls or calling card calls are in the kitchen and master bedroom. Mircrowave, blender, food processor, Kenmore mixer, copper pots are available.

The master bedroom has a queen size bed, blue leather wingback chair and oak dresser. Reading the paper, drinking coffee, and watching birds scamper along the shore make staying tucked in under the down comforter a morning pleasure.

The knotty pine bedroom has a queen bed and twin bed, antique oak dresser and upholster high-back chair. When standing by the windows, the bay and Bodega Head can be enjoyed.

Upstairs and between the two bedrooms is a half-bath with sink and toilet.

Downstairs is the full bath with shower, toilet, sink, and, of course, a great view of the ocean.

The deck provides a great area to relax with teak chaise lounges, table and chair for taking in the view. A cozy and comfortable dining area with the grand Pacific Ocean before you makes inside dining a delight.

The comfy cottage at 13 Summer will reward you with romance and relaxation!

Thank you, Cherry! This home is absolutely beautiful. The views from the living room, dining room, and deck are stunning. The home is beautifully, yet comfortably furnished and decorated. I love the art and antiques throughout the home. Even the landsping is beautiful! We have rented several homes in Dillon Beach and this is by far our favorite. Cherry has thought of everything and you will want for nothing. She even left a welcoming box of amazing chocolates that she hand made! I am very picky about cleanliness and loved the fact that this home was immaculate upon our arrival. Even the outdoor trash cans are housed in an enclosure to keep critters from getting to them. We look forward to returning!

Far exceeded expectations!

  • 5 of 5

Hi Cherry,

We wanted you to know that our stay at your Dillon Beach house more than lived up to our expectations. The energy and sensitivity you put into the furnishing, decorating, and outfitting the house demonstrates a sincerity and generosity toward those who rent it. Waking up every morning, and walking downstairs to see the ocean was also a treat.

We love to cook, and were very pleased with the kitchen. We wanted for nothing when it came to equipment and utensils.

Thank you for all of that. We loved staying there.

Beautiful view, beautiful house!

  • 5 of 5

We've rented at Dillon Beach for years, but never through VRBO. Continuing difficulties with the main realtor in town caused us to look elsewhere this trip, and we are so happy to have discovered the 13th of Summer! All of the problems we've had with the realtor were non-existent with this owner-operated house. Cherry, the owner-operator, was brilliant from the beginning, and was always easy to communicate with, even when I emailed her on Christmas Eve with a question. The house was clean, the sheets and beds were very comfortable and the view from the back deck amazing. We're already thinking about our next trip!

My sister and I stayed here for her 70th birthday celebration and I can't say how wonderful this home made us feel. The minute we drove up we felt at home. The English feel garden was so inviting and quaint. When we opened that front door there was a feeling of peace and comfort. As we walked in, the first thing we noticed was the deck over looking the ocean. We immediately were drawn to it. When we finally could sway from that deck, which is very large with a bench, table and chairs, we ventured upstairs. Wow, the bedrooms were beautiful...hooks for clothes, art, and antiques. The beds were layered with pillows and throws which made me want to dive right in, and, they were so comfortable that I didn't wake with a back ache from some super hard mattress' in past rentals.

This home was exceptional! Very clean, very well maintained, and super homey, with antiques and orchids in every room. The cool thing is that there were different living areas to spread out in for variety. The T.V. room, I call it, to the dining area, to the living area, with gas fireplace for ambiance. The kitchen was super convenient with a farm house sink; just lovely. Also, the bath downstairs was very updated and comfortable for showering.

Cherry made all transactions a breeze...she took care of every detail in her home for us renters. She is very personable and made me feel even more special by sending a few home made cards with photos of Dillon Beach scenes attached to the front. This was not like renting from those management companies. Oh, and those home made chocolates...out of this world. They were uniquely decorated and so professionally done in their own personalized cute box with Cherry's name on them.

For my sister's birthday night we went to the William Tell restaurant in Tomales Bay, just down the road. It is maybe a 10 minute drive, if that much, and it was a great experience. We felt very welcomed there, and the food was to die for. They have a huge outdoor eating area with picnic tables also. I don't think I have ever had such fresh shrimp in my life!

I took a walk down Bumble Bee path to the beach. It must be only a 2 minute walk. So clean and fun watching dogs and people play! It makes one feel free.

You have got to try this home! You will be taken in with its very calm energy. My sister and I just loved our time here. It is a memory that we will never forget.
