If you are looking for a quiet peaceful place to spend time with friends and family, this is the property to stay at! The home had everything that is required for a comfortable stay. We loved our stay, enjoyed the property and the privacy.
We really enjoyed our stay at Bear Lake estate. The cottage had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the pool and sitting on the dock by the lake. The lake was not great for swimming but the pool more than makes up for it. The kids enjoyed the paddle boat and searching for wildlife. Would definitely stay again!
The cottage is well kept, clean, kitchen has lots of dishes/pans to cook in, very private location.

Beautiful location but not pleasant dealing with property manager
The property is in a gorgeous location and we enjoyed staying there. It’s amazing to be in a private lake. Fishing was excellent, there’s a nice games room, and use of boat was a big bonus.
Please note that water is not drinkable so you must bring up your own (hopefully the owner will add this to property listings for future renters). We worked very hard to clean the place when we left but were unable to meet the expectations of the owner. As an example, he sent a picture of a single hair in the bathroom and a slightly stained toilet bowl ( we swept, mopped floor in bathroom and wiped vanity with Lysol wipes). I was unaware that we were supposed to clean toilet bowl and shower as well!!
Overall place is in okay condition. Lots of areas that could use dusting and deck does not appear to be in great condition. Pool is incredibly small but still an added bonus (especially since the lake is boggy). Kids were happy swimming in it. Especially if only two went in at one time.
Unfortunately, although we had a great stay our experience with the owner was so unpleasant that I can not recommend staying here.
Our getaway at William's cabin was great. Super secluded and quiet. Just the right amount of amenities. The private lake was really nice not having to worry about other cottagers and boats etc... The pool was an absolute hit with everyone. Night times were spent enjoying the firepit and the pool table. We will most definitely be back at some point!!

I work and live in the city but Haliburton is my second home!
Why they chose this property
This is a unique property has a private lake and 300 acres of forest to explore. If you enjoy nature walks and experiencing a variety of wildlife then Bear Lake Estates is your destination.Growing up, I spent a great deal of time in the Haliburton area and had many adventures on this property. In last 10 years, I had the opportunity to purchase this property from a family member and have spent a great deal of time making my vision for this property a reality. My family and friends have made many special memories at Bear Lake Estate and it is our home away from home.
What makes this property unique
Privacy, privacy, privacy and more privacy. As well as abundant wildlife and adventure. Sitting by the lake you are sure to catch a glimpse of a deer or moose .
