About Tarah Riegel
My mother originally started a vacation rental business about 7 years ago. After assisting her part time the last few years, I finally decided that starting a vacation rental business of my own was finally in my cards as well! I now own & manage a little company called Bassora Properties just outside St. Louis, MO. My husband, Brian, and I loved sharing our first vacation rental, Hidden Creek Getaway, with others that we much started diligently working to restore a 120 year old 3 story all brick home, Brick Rose, that is located in Washington's Historic Downtown District. Brian's passion is his day job, working on his family's dairy farm and mine is crafting, decorating, and constantly learning new things. Together, we make a great team managing the property and are quick to respond to your needs since we live just a couple miles away with our three children, Sawyer, Sterling, & Scarlett!

Why Tarah Riegel chose Washington
My husband and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to own this historic home and put our mark on it! We both grew up in Washington and neither of us had ever seen the house or noticed it. What's crazy is that it's located right on top of Washington's main drag, 5th Street, and in a very traveled spot, but the trees and shrubs kept this beautiful home from being seen by many locals for years! Not for long! The overgrown trees and shrubs had to be removed for construction and replaced with more manageable landscaping that compliments the house, instead of hiding it. It's time for 311 West 5th Street to be noticed again!
What makes this House unique
The Brick Rose is not just a vacation home, it's like a little antique museum full of eclectic items that are sure to be the topic of conversation!

6 couples. Gorgeous home. What was not to like. Fantastic location in Washington with easy access to downtown.
This house was incredible! It slept 14 of us comfortably in king beds! The backyard was so much fun with the fire pit, pool, and huge hot tub! We had a blast and can’t wait to stay there again!
Such a fun house!
We had a fabulous family gathering here! Everyone had a blast and really enjoyed the house.
Perfect family vacation home!
We loved The Brick Rose house and outdoor area! My family spent a ton of time in the pool and hot tub. We had room for inflatables in the pool, which is larger than than it looks in the pictures. The house provides 4 levels and has everything a large group could need. The mother-in-law quarters are accessible from the street with separate parking and no steps. The house is decorated beautifully. The owners work hard to make sure your stay is fabulous. The city of Washington offers plenty of things to do. We hired a driver to take our group to several wineries on a small bus. The downtown shops and restaurants are within a few blocks. We were extremely happy with our stay.
What a neat place! Our family of 21 loved staying there. The pool was awesome!
We enjoyed all the unique features of this house. It was huge!
Great place, loved the pool!!
Washington is a great little town with some nice wineries right nearby (didn't have to go into Hermann). We loved everything about the house, the pool, the firepit, grill, ample space, comfy beds, stocked kitchen/baths. What a great place to stay with a large group!
