Wonderful Lodge type atmosphere, rustic which we love!

  • 5 of 5

Our lodge was historic, warm and accommodating. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for the multiple families we had in town for our Son's wedding. Large kitchen with "2" of everything! 2 stoves... 2 Refrigerators, two washers and dryers. Perfect for a Family or group that loves to cook and spread out! Alan, our host checked us in and shared some history and background on the property as well and encouraged us to use the ancient fireplaces with the well seasoned wood they provided. Couldn't have been better experience!

Perfect Experience- Wedding and Family Get-together on Mount Palomar

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I got married here in July and loved every part of the process (working with Diana and Alan) and the venue.

Diana and Alan were amazing- always available to reach out and ask questions, they were able to meet with us for a detailed walk through of the property before we booked, checked up on us throughout our stay.

The lodge is amazing and I wish we could live here! The lodge is set up with every detail in mind- lots of extra towels, cooking gear, spices, two refrigerators, box fans and standing fans to help with the heat wave days (the nights were perfectly cool), extra tables and chairs, a piano, bottle openers, two stoves, firewood for the fireplaces, and the list goes on and on.

We comfortably had sixty guests, all ten rooms occupied, and were able to book a local caterer and rental company (for tables and chairs).

Absolutely everything was clean and ready to go when we arrived, Diana and Alan walked us around showing us all of the details and let us know they were on call the whole weekend, everything we needed- for the rehearsal dinner, guest stay, and wedding we found in the lodge, and the checkout list was very reasonable and provided to us on the first day.

We also worked with Diana and Alan to book the Palomar Views cabin as a sort of honeymoon suite for the two nights we were there as well. They were able to book both on one contract and check in at the same time which was perfect.

Another venue bonus (which could always change- so make sure to ask): we were able to purchase insurance and serve our own alcohol to guests for the wedding. In my entire hunt for wedding venues- I didn't find that anywhere.

I would absolutely recommend this lodge to anyone for any event: All communication was timely and professional, the venue was flawless, family-friendly, clean, and well-stocked for all needs, and we have amazing memories now of our special day thanks to everyone involved.

Would absolutely book and stay again!

Great destination for groups of 14-20! Music, Games, Fires, Food and Fun!

  • 5 of 5

We held a family reunion for 16 of us at the Palomar Lodge and everyone had an amazing time! The great room hosted a dining table with plenty of room for all of us to sit around for meals with comfort to linger and chat for hours. The kitchen had all of the cooking utensils, pots, pans, 2 ovens/stoves, 2 refrigerators, a dishwasher, and plenty of space for all to help with meal prep. The indoor and outdoor giant fireplaces were both used, as well as the bbq on the front porch, and outdoor lawns. There was plenty of room for horseshoes, spike ball, and just hanging out and chatting. The TV was great, with Netflix, and we brought our own dvds to share family pictures. The grand piano was an added plus, and we had concerts thanks to some of our family members. Those who wanted quiet time could go off to the ten bedrooms with plenty of access to bathrooms for all. It is a quiet space, with hiking in Palomar State Park nearby for those who want to go out into the woods. The snow is beautiful in the winter, and the lupines are gorgeous in June. Alan and Diana were very helpful explaining the equipment and responded immediately, when we couldn't find any dish washing soap. We highly recommend the lodge for a getaway!

Taberd79 - Our 50th friendship anniversary Re-Union at the Lodge.

  • 5 of 5

Our 50th anniversary of friendship annual gathering took place at the Lodge this year. We have been friends since first grade back in Vietnam. After the fall of 1975, we were scattered yet have kept in touch. We did our 13th re-union this year at the Lodge. 23 of us had taken ourselves back to our childhood memory lane in 3 nights here.

Place is clean, neat and have its own character. We felt at home with a large table with clean red fabric cover. The great room is suffice for all of us. Together with a hundred years old in-tune piano, few of us took turn to play after dinner time. A ping pong table can be easily converted to a pool table was a bonus.

Kitchen is clean and have ample room for us to work with. Utensils, Serving tools, plates, bowls and kitchen tools were at our dispose. Wine glasses were there and ready.

We had guests came over and joined us for breakfast before heading to Temecula for our traditional wine tasting. With additional folding tables and chairs, we all could sit down and had our meal. We refreshed our table cover everyday since the laundry quarter behind the kitchen is stocked with detergent. It was like vacation at your home.

Bedrooms were clean, neat and each one had its character. TV connected to Direct TV were a bonus surprise, yet none of us had a chance to use ( We ... were having too much fun in the great room and did not go to bed until 2 AM in the morning).

There are two fireplaces: an indoor and one outdoor. WE had spent much of the evening gathering around the outside fireplace to have a group conversation.

I had the opportunity to get vote count of all members. Everyone were happy and would want to come back during the fall or winter.

The prompt responses from Diana and Alan were no exceptions to the cleanliness of the property. Alan walked me through the entire property, showing me how to operate every light, heater control, fans ...etc.. We seemed to find everything for our first dinner time. Plates, Foods ere ready. We made a call. Within 10 minutes, Diana showed up with Alan to show us where the utensils placed.

I myself find the property under the management of Alan and Diana is a gem.

Thank You Alan and Diana for a wonderful place that we called home for 3 nights.

Great place for group retreat

This is the second year we have used the Lodge on Palomar Mountain for our annual Women's Retreat. We appreciated the amenities added since last year. The weather was much warmer this year and we were able to enjoy the delightful outdoor fireplace in the evenning.
