Riverview Apartment is situated in the heart of Skibbereen Town and is ideally located to avail of the many local facilities and West Cork generally. Overlooking the River Ilen and just of the Main Street, Riverview apartment is an Architect designed apartment on the second floor. Parking for Residents is free but in the rare event of no space being available, the CCTV protected free Public Car Park is just a hundred metres away across the Main Street and is open 24 hours.
Skibbereen is noted for its excellent Restaurants all of which are within a short walking distance. There are also fast food outlets again just within a hundred metres of the apartment and if you choose to eat in the apartment, cooking facilities are provided and West Cork's best Supermarket (Fields SuperValu) is just across the Main Street. Here you can find all the very best of food, from their own freshly baked bread to a huge variety of cakes and pastries and an outstanding selection of fresh fish meat and cheeses.
Also across the Main Street is the UillinnWest Cork Art Centre where national and international exhibitions are held all year round. Skibbereen is regarded as the best shopping town in West Cork and its myriad of shops and stores will enthral you with the variety and price of quality goods. Skibbereen is ideally located to visit local attractions such as Lough Hyne (an inland sea lake unique in Northern Europe) where you can swim in waters that are almost always a degree or two above the temperature of the nearby open sea due to its unique tidal patterns and pristine clean water. Don't go to Lough Hyne hungry as to protect its environment, no commercial activity is allowed there but Baltimore is only about three miles away. Baltimore Village where you can spend pleasant days walking, fishing, visiting the Islands of Sherkin and Cape Clear on the frequent ferries, go on yacht trips or whale watching. Castletownshend, a lovely village with its own occupied Castle, the home of the Townshend family from which the village took its name. The Castle has its own restaurant and coffee café or stop off for lunch or dinner at Mary Anne's Bar where there is always the most delicious food combined with the friendly chat with the proprietor Fergus O'Mahony, Union Hall Village is a great Centre for going on Whale Watch and/or Shark Fishing with Tom Collins or just to visit the local hostelries or go across Poulgorm Bridge to beautiful Glandore to wine and dine indoors or out at Glandore Inn.
To the West, visit Ballydehob, Schull, Crookhaven where parts of the Last Gedi were filmed and don't miss a visit to Mizen Head and travel across the foot bridge for a great experience and photo opportunity and visit the most south westerly point of Ireland from where you can view the Fastnet Lighthouse also called Irelands Teardrop which was the last sight of Ireland for thousands of immigrants to the USA in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
