We loved it!

  • 5 of 5

So peaceful and relaxing! We had everything we needed and more! Thank you John for stopping by to share the locally grown sweet corn!! This is a perfect place to stay when you want to unplug and enjoy all that nature has to offer!!

A special thanks to Punkey the cat for checking in on us too! We enjoyed his friendly personality! A great guy to hang out with on the large deck beside the pond!

July in MN is the perfect time to spend here and learn about Lawndale Farms history!

It was a nice location, and a very nice stay.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our time there. The accommodations were good as expected, and the owner John was very nice. The lake was natural with weeds and growth for bird nests, and we saw several families with babies, of ducks, geese, and I think swans. Sitting on the deck in the nice weather was a real treat.

Great for a quiet weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

The pictures don't really do this place justice. We had a girls weekend at the cabin and it was perfect for us. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and there was plenty of space for everyone. The owner was also very responsive, helpful and super nice.

A nice cozy cabin

  • 5 of 5

The location of the cabin was just what we were looking for. It's out in the country and the closest town is 15 minutes with a population of 500. It's perfect for a quiet getaway. The cabin shares a driveway with the owner's house but at no time during our stay did we feel as though we were without privacy. I met the owner, John, when he was scooping the boardwalk to the cabin one morning. He's an exceptionally nice person and very easy going. We stayed during the winter so the pond the cabin sits on was frozen over but I would imagine the view during the summer is second to none. I will definitely keep this place in mind when arranging a summer retreat!

Great view!

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful cabin by a pond. John was very helpful and personable. Place is stocked with the bare minimum, bring your own supplies. Including wood for a fire no one sells any, close by.

Would certainly recommend staying!

If your looking to eat out. I would recommend Knotty Pine in Elbow Lake. Along with a new place called the Wrap Shack in Barrett, smaller seating here but cozy. Groceries can be bought in Morris and Willies or at Dean's in Elbow Lake.
