Bring the whole family to our home within the beautiful Malulani Gardens, a gated Community in Kailua-Kona! There's plenty of space for everyone, including 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an expansive private lanai and grass area with deck & spa. Our home is surrounded on 2 sides by an ancient Hawaiian archeological site, and because of this, you have a direct view of the ocean & sunset; oh, did we mention our private spa?
Our comfortable, open-plan living area is the starting point for your beach vacation. The living room, kitchen & dining area all share the view of the ocean & sunset. With ocean-themed interior design, a 55" flat-screen TV, large gourmet kitchen with gas cooktop, and a dining space for 8, it's the perfect place to gather.
The highlight of the living space is the lanai, accessible via sliding glass doors in the living area and off the master bedroom. You'll love the shimmering ocean views and sea breezes! Have a BBQ and take your ice-cold drink of choice out to the lanai chairs & lounges, or slip into the spa for a luxury vacation experience. The beautiful lanai provides sweeping ocean views, a great vantage point for sunsets, and puts you right in the path of the Hawaiian Island trade winds.
The lanai is also accessible from the spacious master bedroom, with high ceilings, overhead fan and skylight, and furnished with a king-size bed, 40” flat-screen TV, and Blu-Ray player with WiFi. The master en-suite has a walk-in closet, dual sinks, and a large walk-in shower. The second bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed, an overhead fan, 32” wall-mounted Smart TV with Blu-Ray player, and a large closet making it a great place to unpack and stay a while. The third bedroom is comfortably outfitted with two twin beds, overhead fan, and another 32” Smart TV. All TVs are attached to cable as well as having Netflix available for your enjoyment. The second bathroom, which is located in the hallway just between the second and third bedrooms, is very comfortable and equipped with a combination shower/tub.
The beach is only a short drive away. All you need is towels, sunscreen, and flip-flops! When you get back, wash away the sand under the refreshing outdoor hot shower and slip into the spa for amazing sunset views!
Hale Alaula is the perfect location to unwind and relax. Our home is equipped with fast WiFi and wired high speed Internet (230mbs); an extended cable package that offers 300 HD Channels; free local & long distance phone calls; Netflix throughout the house; over 100 DVD & Blu-Ray movies to choose from, and a small library to enjoy. We have a whole house water filtration system with sub-micron carbon filters (you won't need to buy bottled water).
Malulani Gardens is a private gated community easily accessible to down town Kailua-Kona. This community also provides pedestrian walking paths, with keyed entrances making the nearby shopping area very close by car or foot. If you want to venture a bit further, the beaches, restaurants and shops of downtown Kailua-Kona are just a 5-minute drive away!
Besides being moments from the beach, our ocean inspired home is right up the street from historic Ali'i Drive. Enjoy the shops, restaurants, historical monuments and museums of Kailua-Kona. Rent a bicycle or stroll around Kona Town and don't forget to discover the local sea life at Kahalu'u Beach Park or White Sands Beach.
About the owners: We are both retired teachers from the San Francisco Bay Area. He enjoys tennis, scuba diving, and photography (take a look at some of his underwater photos in our living room). She enjoys yoga, hiking, and cooking (check out our gourmet kitchen). Together, we love traveling all over the world, which allows us to share our Malulani Garden home with you when we're away.
A/C Notes: This home has 1 central AC unit which cools the entire home. The temperature should not be set below 70 degrees and should be set to 80 when leaving the home to conserve energy costs.
