Angela was a great host and very responsive to our inquiries before and during our stay! It is a cosy, quiet home with an amazing view of the sea from the stairs and the upstairs main bedroom. All of the amenities that we expected were there (the washer/dryer combo needs a little TLC to operate). Craster is a delightful village and the Coastal Path is marvelous. Would definitely stay again!

Thank you so much for your kind review we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. Maybe on your next visit you may see the dolphins as they swim by !
Craster is an ideal location for coastline walkers. There are local bus services, reliable if irregular but which give access to Alnmouth, Alnwick etc. Worth noting for non car-visitors, that the fish-smokery, Robson's, has a shop which not only stocks their wonderful kippers but also sells milk, bread, fruit-juice, wine, puddings etc. The Coastline Cafe in the village also sells milk.
Perfect for our stay . Good location to get to other places as well as Craster .
Children’s park perfect for our boys to play on and have a kick about .
it was comfortable in the house, with the added advantage of being able to see the sea through the gap in the houses opposite. Easy to find. Soon learned to cope with parking two cars!
We were two women walking the Northumberland coast path. The space in Craster suited our needs perfectly. Location is great, space is exactly as described, nearby, pub, convenient to public transportation. It had everything we needed and more. Very communicative and accommodating host. Definitely recommend.

The house is in a great location for accessing the Coastal Path- north and south there are great walks. Angela is a helpful host and the check in process was very easy. Unlike many other local properties we were able to book a two night stay which was great for us
Our bed was very comfortable
Lovely seat in the front garden for morning sun and sea views. The back garden has some pretty flowers and is a great place for late afternoon sun when the front is in shade, but we didn’t have any garden furniture so couldn’t sit outside.

Thank you for your lovely review I am pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. Aplogies for no garden furniture in the back garden it all got damaged in the storms a few weeks ago and we only just got our fences back up and painted ready for your stay we had wanted to get new garden furniture too but ran out of time.
Thank you again for choosing to stay with us and your patience and understanding it really means a lot to us

Located a stones throw from the Jolly Fisherman and the harbour with views of the sea beyond the row of houses in front. The location was ideal for us. The property was very clean and tidy with crockery, cutlery etc. There were bathrobes in the master bedroom. The kitchen was the most up to date room in the house and the sitting room was cosy. The hallways, bedrooms and bathroom are looking a bit tired and could benefit from a refresh of paint. There is an outside seating area although we didn’t use this - again the outside areas could do with a bit of tlc.

Thank you for your review we will take on board your comments re painting this is all done at the beginning of the season each year I’m sure you can appreciate it’s difficult to do touch ups inbetween bookings., regarding outside with most of the inclement weather we had it’s been challenging to keep outside as maintained as usual.
The property was great and the village lovely. We enjoyed the ocean view from the bedroom and the kids loved having the adventure playground just down the street. Close to the local pub and great walks. Great communication with the host who made the stay easy!
Perfect space and location for our visit to Craster. We were walking the Macmillan Mighty Hike and needed a location that was easy access to Alnwick and Bamburgh. The accommodation was great and sitting in the garden the night before the walk was very relaxing. We managed to book into The Jolly Fisherman for a late dinner on the Saturday night. Highly recommended for both food and ambience so definitely pre book. This is a very comfortable holiday cottage and we will book again.
The property is in a lovely location in the village with sea views and close to the playground and rocks, which the kids loved playing on. The kitchen was brand new and well equipped and the owner had kindly left some food and treats for us all. Apparently wi-fi and a new TV had just been installed but we didn't use either as the kids were happy being outdoors. The main bedroom is lovely and spacious and the smaller room is cosy for kids. As per previous reviews some of the decor is a little tired but that did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay. My only suggestion would be perhaps to install some darker blinds/curtains.....the sun was streaming in at 4.30am in June!
We like to visit the area each year and would definitely come back to this cottage.
Very cosy house close to the coast, seaview from lounge and bedroom, nice garden to sit in, excellent location for day trips - we are already planning our next stay!

Clean, cosy and well-located
The cottage was cosy and welcoming, and the breakfast items and little toiletry samples were much appreciated. It was also spotlessly clean. I would say that it is showing slightly more signs of wear and tear than can be seen in the photos, but this did not affect our enjoyment of the cottage. The location is great, both for exploring Craster and the wider area. I'd definitely recommend the cottage to others.

I live and work in Newcastle which is around 40mins away from Craster. although we leave you to enjoys the benefits of our holiday home we are only a phone call away if their is anything you need urgently.
Why they chose this property
Driftwood has been our holiday home for my family for over 20 years. We use to take the children for days out to Craster and we couldn't believe our luck when we could actually buy a place their. visiting most weekends and school holidays we fitted right in with the local community as they welcomed us. they were and still are helpful and friendly. My girls grew up feeling very much a part of this sleepy fishing village where time seems to have stood still and thats why we still love it today my daughters now visit with friends and my youngest like to escape to write music there. It really is a get away from it all where you can totally recharge your batteries so to speak. We have thought many times to put in wi fi but not do so yet as its really nice to get yourself and your children to put away their mobile games and phones and do a good old fashioned jigsaw or play a family game or head out to do some rock pooling.
What makes this property unique
you can sit and watch for hours the ever-changing view of the sea from both the down stairs and upstairs window. In fact theirs nothing more relaxing than sitting in the upstairs window with a good book, glass of wine and a great view out to sea especially at low tide as it really reveals it self.
