If you are getting ready to click that button to send a request for some dates, Thank You!

But hold up just a moment before you do, there are two important pieces of information we need so we can respond to your request to stay with Classy Cabins AZ:

1) The dates you want to stay. Please, check the availability calendar for the cabin or cabins you are interested in, and make sure they appear available on the calendar.

2) How many are in your party. We need an accurate count of adults and children who will be traveling so we can provide the proper accommodations, and plan properly for towels, linens, and supplies.

We are sorry, but this beautiful cabin cannot accommodate weddings.

All of the comforts of home and more! Clean. Well located. My family stayed for 3 nights, and Raccoon Ranch was the perfect last stop to conclude our long vacation.

Excellent atmosphere if it wasn't for those dang trains!

  • 4 of 5

I was looking for a place to bring my family, sister, and father for a few nights near the Grand Canyon. My father loves the outdoors and I wanted to stay somewhere other than a hotel so that we could all socialize at the end of the day. This cabin was almost perfect. My father loved being out in the woods. The space holds 10 people -- just be sure to look around and you'll find a pull out bed under the couch and a futon mattress upstairs to sleep on. It has all the comforts of home. Water pressure and the water heater was no problem--actually better than my own home!

The only distraction is that there are probably 4-7 trains which pass a nearby crossing and must blow their horns very loudly through the night. If you are a deep sleeper, probably no problem. Light sleepers like me had some issues but nothing I couldn't eventually deal with. The owner provides ear-plugs but I think that would be rather uncomfortable to use while sleeping. We used the cabin during the summer so all windows were open. I am guessing that the trains would be less of an issue during the winter when you would normally have your windows closed.

If you need food/supplies, the city of Williams is about a 10-15 minute drive, so not a big deal. Just stock up plenty and you'll have no problem. When we first drove to Williams to buy groceries, we saw all the local activities (e.g. bar, restaurants, etc.) and thought maybe we made a mistake and should have stayed there. BUT, once we got back to the cabin, we changed our mind and really appreciated the size of the cabin, the privacy, and being in nature.

The Grand Canyon is about an hour drive from the cabin. However, we took a day tour and the tour bus picked us up in Williams. Easy-peezy.

Overall, it's a great place to stay with a family and friends. My only suggestion is that if you MUST sleep in a very quiet place, you may want to give it some thought.

Owner's Response: We are happy you had a great time. We love the cabin and the setting as well. One of the neat things about it is just how quiet it really is at night out in the woods. Against that, the trains get noticeable if you are a light sleeper. For our guests who are light sleepers, we provide white noise machines along with soft ear plugs. We are 2 miles from the crossing, and it's a federal regulation that the trains must blow their whistles at the crossing. Some people enjoy the nostalgic sound of distant train whistles. It's even an option on some of the white noise machines.

Wonderful Family Cabin near Grand Canyon

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was a perfect place for our family vacation to the Grand Canyon area! Amy and Steve were accommodating and helpful when we booked the Raccoon Ranch. We had two families with 4 children under 10 and the cabin and the surrounding land were a great setting for their adventures. The owners were responsive and so kind(even we accidently locked ourselves out). Thanks for providing such a great space for our family to make precious memories!

Grand Canyon Vacation Stay

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at our cabin in the woods late afternoon and found it to be charming and welcoming. We got a little turned around finding the cabin, the turn at the T and over the railroad tracks kinda threw us for a loop. Once we got there, it was easy to navigate into Williams, Bearzona, and Flagstaff. The cabin was small, but very cozy. It easily accommodated the 6 of us (all adults) We never felt crowded or closed in. The time we spent at the cabin was either sleeping or sitting outside on the porch. We were only at the cabin for 4 days, but could have easily spent a week or more. Access to Williams for grocery shopping, dining, cocktails, and shopping was quick and easy. The drive to Flagstaff for lunch was easy to navigate and showed us some more of the beautiful landscape of this area. The highlight of the trip was of course the Grand Canyon. We met Marvelous Marv at the Vistor's Center downtown Williams and spent the day viewing the spectacular sights of the Grand Canyon.

I would definitely stay at the Racoon Ranch again. I would love to see the grounds covered in snow, so next time we might take a winter break.
