We're just finishing up a top to bottom remodel of our upper-floor, end-unit condo in Poipu. Brand new open air kitchen with all new appliance. Oversized walk-in shower. All new furniture . . . nothing was spared to ensure the beauty of Kiahuna Plantation Resort was matched inside out unit as well. Updated pictures will be posted shortly.

Kiahuna Plantation Resort is located directly on what the Travel Channel rated as one of the world's top 10 beaches for three straight years. The resort itself consists of low-rise plantation style condos spread out spaciously over 33 acres with gardens and lawn area running right up to the beach. Beach chairs and towels are complimentary for all guests.

Our top-floor, end-unit is located away from any road noise and a short 2 minute barefoot walk across the lawn to the beach. The unit's location also provides plenty of privacy, so you can leave the windows open day and night to enjoy the steady tropical breezes. Our one bedroom non-smoking condo sleeps 4 and is fully outfitted for all your needs as well as being central to the beach, pool and tennis courts.

The Poipu Beach Athletic Club is just across the road, and our guests have full access to the pool, workout room and tennis courts. Not all owners at Kiahuna Plantation have chosen to join so if you book with another property be sure to ask if they belong to the Poipu Beach Athletic Club. The Club is open Tuesday thru Sunday, closed Mondays.

This unit has the rare combination of privacy, quiet, cleanliness and reasonable prices making this this one of the most desired units at Kiahuna.

Great Location In Poipu

We are a late 50's active couple (went on Outfitter's Kauai Adreneline ZipLine yesterday - check it out...https://outfitterskauai.com/activities/flyline-zipline/) and come to Kauai each year. This year we thought we would split it up and stay a week on south shore and a week on north shore. This unit is in a perfect location within easy walking distance to a lot of restaurants, bars, Poipu State Park, shopping, etc. The Plantation staff maintain excellent care of the landscape and facilities.The end unit is on the second floor and really helps in obtaining a cross breeze to keep the place cool. The unit is clean and well maintained for being a rental in the tropics. Would highly recommend to a friend and would stay here again.

Review of our stay

We were taken off guard by the fee for full cleaning and also the check out cleaning fee. We have stayed at the Plantation several times and don't remember that being added on.

Our son stayed in a unit managed by Outrigger and they were charged nothing for cleaning. We have dealt with Outrigger before and appreciated their fees and treatment.

We did appreciate the daily paper service.

The support and cleaning staff were very accommodating.

Owner's Response: Laurence - We were surprised to read your review about the fees and we investigated this only to discover that you are 100% right as the cleaning fees which are paid to the property manager (and not us) were not made known to you before you booked your reservation . . . this is not right, so WE'D LIKE TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO REFUND YOU THE CLEANING FEES. All units at Kiahuna are owned by individual owners, so the handling of these cleaning fees will vary unit by unit. Some owners include the cleaning fees in nightly rental rate, and others like ourselves charge the cleaning fees separately. We've updated our listing to make sure the cleaning fees are disclosed up front to avoid this issue in the future. I appreciate that it makes renting directly a little more complicated, and we're sorry for the experience and hope that the remainder of your vacation was a pleasant one. Mahalo, Ken

Great corner unit

This second floor corner unit was peaceful and private. We loved the sweeping garden view and with a short walk to the beach you can visit the ocean at any time. While the kitchen was a little dated it was nicely equipped and the furniture comfortable.

Nice place

We stayed at unit 63 for 5 days. We had a wonderful stay, Kiahuna Plantation is very well cared for and beautiful. The location made it convenient for our day trips, the south side of Kauai is gorgeous. All of Kauai is gorgeous. I found cooking there to be somewhat of a challenge, simple things like knives need sharpening, the top of the lid of a saucepan fell off, all small things really. I do enjoy cooking some meals in as food is very expensive on the island. There were no spices to speak of, but again, just small stuff. All in all, we had a great time and enjoyed our visit. The staff at Kiahuna plantation is very accommodating. I would go back, no doubt. It would be nice to turn the roosters off at 6:00 am!

With respect to the "small stuff", we especially appreciate the feedback as we always want to make everyone's stay more enjoyable. Unfortunately, some things are not possible as the management clears out all food products meaning things like spices are taken out as well. We understand why they do this, but would agree with you that it would be nice for these things to be avaialble w/o having to buy a brand new spice jar with every new guest. Believe me, we get it :-) About the roosters, they're part of the Kauai "charm" and thankfully the management company actively works to capture and release the roosters off-site. Thanks again and we look forward to your return.

Great Getaway

We just returned from spending two weeks at Kiahuna Plantation unit 63 and enjoyed it very much. The unit is in a great location within the property with beautiful views of the grounds from the lanai, where we spent much of our time. Being on the second floor and a corner unit makes for great cross ventilation, and makes the lanai feel much more private. We especially enjoyed listening to the numerous nightly rain showers pounding on the trees just outside the bedroom windows. We really enjoyed walking down south of the Sheraton and watching the sea turtles that feed along that section of coastline, and had a great time at the Saturday Farmer's Market in Puhi, where we found some wonderful fruits and vegetables. Be sure and try one of the coconuts. They'll chop the top off of a coconut, give you a straw and you can drink the juice while cruising the market....very refreshing. We found this part of the island to have great weather and to be a great staging area for visits to all other parts of the island. This property was recommended to us by a friend who has stayed here on multiple occasions, and it was good advice. We really enjoyed our stay here. Thanks Ken!

One thing you mentioned always is a big point not always mentioned . . . being on the upper floor in an end-unit is a big plus. The second floor allows you to leave windows all day and night without any worries . . . and the end unit adds to the air flow making the unit comfortable year round.

At checkout, you will be charged a $120+tax cleaning fee. Also for stays of 7 nights or longer, the property manager (Castle Properties) requires mid-stay cleanings of at least once every 7 days. These cleanings are $67+tax per cleaning. All cleaning charges are payable to Castle, which manages our unit, and are due when you check out.
