About this property

A get away by the sea

Passengers little house is a perfectly formed little bit of luxury, full of character, where you are welcomed by a double height ceiling, oak floor and luxurious carpet on the mezzanine which over looks the living space. On the outside fronted with black boarding for a Kent barn look. Passenger is an ideal holiday pad with spectacular views of the seafront only a 2 minute walk away . A perfect romantic get away, friends sharing and ideal for the lone traveller as very safe. There is the option of a pull down sofa bed. The living area is a well thought out double height space with hanging pendant lights, comfortable seating and a wall mounted remote controlled T.V with the option of Netflicks. A kitchenette which will meet all your needs, with the very important cafeteria, toaster, good size fridge and freezer, microwave and plug in hob. The bathroom is of a high spec, you are met with a glass and tiled walk in shower, vintage cabinet holding the sink above which you will find a touch free light sensor on the mirror for added luxury. A small flight of stairs leads to the bedroom mezzanine area, carpeted for a luxurious and cosy feel, here you will find a kingsize bed
We have lived here for over 10 years now making the move from London. Views from Tankerton slopes have never disappointed all weathers and seasons its a very special arena to see so far out to the sea and sky. This is a seafront without crowds, often you can spend the whole day with what seems like your own private piece of beach in-between the groynes which go out to sea at regular intervals. Prior to moving I worked in Museums, my partner and are have both studied at Art school, I think we have an eye for detail and was very clear that we wanted the space to be uncluttered, comfortable whist keeping luxury and style, with a double height ceiling, the texture of brickwork and oak flooring we are very happy with the results. I take hosting very seriously I spend a lot of time making sure everything is at its best. I am fastidious about the cleanliness and really enjoy putting in little extras. I take pride that you have chosen to spend your precious holiday time at Passenger and I want to make sure all is perfect. We are only next door if you needed anything but often only greet and say farewell to guests as it's easy just to get straight into having a holiday once you've arrived
We are located on one of the beautiful wide roads in Tankerton that leads directly down to the seafront, as you come out of the house you can see the slopes and sea beyond. Parking is not a problem it is not a busy road with parking along one side. Whitstable train station is 10 minuets walk away, if you are arriving by train please ask it may be possible for me to pick you up so you can get your holiday started quicker.Tankerton is a hidden gem, open and spacious with easy parking and a large green expanse, 'The slopes', where you get the greatest views of the seafront unlike the centre of Whitstable This is a sea front without crowds often you can spend the day with what seems like your own private piece of beach in-between the groynes that go out to sea at regular intervals. Jojo's an award winning tapas restaurant is located on the slopes with sea views, a great place for lunch or dinner. Whitstable centre is a 15 minute walk along the front where the crowds await. Whitstable is packed with amazing restaurants and independent boutiques. You can catch the bus if you prefer which is at the end of the road also Tesco's, many take aways, a micro brewery pub The Tankerton Arms.

Guest access
We have a keysafe you can arrive and leave independently.

Interaction with guests
I am only next door so very happy to answer any questions and happy to help.

The vacation unit itself was compact and cute. Had to search around for things in the unit. Great location for site seeing.

Living Large in Passengers Little House
This Little House is 5 STARS times 2! Our only disappointment was we only stayed 3 nights. Wish we had a week or more to enjoy the house and explore Tankerton and Whitstable. The house is compact but intimate, modern but comfy and cozy. There was plenty of space for my husband and I to relax and enjoy the comforts of a home. The kitchen is fully equipped if you want to stay in and make meals. But, there are great places to eat in Tankerton and Whitstable. The bathroom is roomy with a large shower with plenty of hot water and great pressure. As international travelers with lots of electronic devices we were very impressed with all the conveniently placed USB ports. The location of the house is an easy drive to Dover and Canterbury and nice walks to Whitstable and around Tankerton. Amanda is the sweetest, generous, and gracious host you will ever meet. Upon your arrival there are wonderful pastries, tea, coffee and even milk in the fridge. There are also snack bags of nuts (that helped us survive a couple of long train rides) and Chocolate Salted Caramel Crisps that are to die for. Amanda is more than happy to recommend places to eat and we highly recommend these 2 suggestions, Ozzie's for fish and chips and Neptune Pub in Whitstable. Amanda's design and attention to details of Passengers Little House is amazing. After a whirlwind day of sightseeing and exploring castles and cathedrals it was nice to return to a house where we could relax and climb into a comfortable bed for a good night's sleep. Of the 3 places we stayed in England Passengers Little House was our favorite. We highly recommend visiting Tankerton and Whitstable and staying in Passengers Little House. We hope to return someday and stay longer. Thank you so much, Amanda. You are the best! Cindy and Fausto

Fantastic spot to relax and enjoy the sights.
My wife and I stayed here from Oct 5th to 8th, visiting from Canada. From the moment we opened the door, we loved everything about the property. Getting around is very easy, the bus is nearby, and the people are very friendly. This is a perfect spot to go walking or bicycling. The high street , past the roundabout, has lots of interesting shops to look in. The waterfront is wonderful too so anyone visiting should make time to take in the sights. We took the bus to Canterbury and visited the Cathedral, a must visit in my opinion. So much history there, but also, lots of shops and places to eat. We had a great lunch at Pork & Co and we would highly recommend it. Hopped the bus to Herne Bay, another nice town to visit with lots to see. When travelling, it is always great to feel comfortable and welcomed wherever we are staying. This was everything and more. We would absolutely stay here again! T and G, London, Ontario, Canada

Exactly as advertised and the owner was so accommodating
This is a lovely, very clean and quiet property that is just a few minutes walk to the sea and to town. The owner provided helpful information and picked us up and returned us to the train station.

Alex and I or both have a degree in Fine Art and I an M.A from the Royal college of Art, we both have creative jobs which we juggle and our three children. We moved from Brick lane in East London. We love the house and location its perfect for access and calm family life.

Why they chose this property

We managed to get a largish house and with a big renovation we built Passengers little house on the side. It took us a long time to realise the design for a unique, open and airy space, packed with character and comfort.

What makes this property unique

A lovely well designed high spec space close to a very special seafront where you just will not experience the kind of crowds you might elsewhere.
