Relaxed, country setting, sleeps up to 4, great views, great pond, great wine
The bedroom has a king bed, a rocker recliner, an attached bathroom with a shower and a great view of the vineyard.
The great room has a daybed with a trundle bed in one corner that looks out over the vineyard. The sitting area has 2 couches with a 55" big screen TV and a DVD player. The kitchen nook has a built in bar and includes a microwave, small refrigerator/freezer, counter top double burner, electric griddle, crock pot, coffee maker, and more. This vacation rental is a loft above the winery tasting room and has windows that look down into the tasting room. You can see through the 20 foot floor to ceiling windows of the tasting room and see the pond in the foreground and the timber in the background.. It is an amazing view.
As vacation rental guests you will share the giant deck around the winery with our winery guests. Summer hours are from 1-5 Saturday, and Sunday, and 3-9:00 on Friday. You can have a fire in the shared fire pit and grill some burgers on the grill. There is a propane grill on the deck which you can use. Explore the pond with one of our canoes, kayaks, or paddle boat. Test your fishing skills against the large mouth bass. Swimming in the crystal clear pond is a favorite activity during the summer months. Try some of our award winning wines. Wine tasting is free during the wineries regular business hours. All the grapes are grown on our farm, and we have everything from dry to semi sweet. There are trails on our timber farm that lead to the other vineyards. They are available for hiking. The Little Sioux River is just a mile to the South and provides many access points for canoeing, fishing, floating, etc. We are centrally located for the Northwest Iowa Prairie wine trail. We are about an hour South of the Iowa Great Lakes with all that it has to offer. We are 20 miles North of Storm Lake. We are 8 miles from the Prairie Heritage Museum just outside of Peterson. We are just a mile from the Glacial Scenic Byway.
Please be advised that occasionally there are parties in the winery. We will try to inform you in advance so you can plan accordingly.

In 2008, Paul and Sheila opened InnSpiration Bed and Breakfast, and planted the first vineyard. They planted another vineyard in 2009 and in 2010. They opened the winery in 2013, and converted the Bed and Breakfast to a vacation rental. Paul has an electrical engineering degree, but has spent most of his life on the family farm. Really nice loft, felt like the winery VIP overlooking the live music downstairs. Beautiful part of Iowa, wish we hade more time to hang out and explore
NIce tranquil rural spot
The loft is a nice room over the winery tasting room. Large bedroom & living area with a sofa trundle bed. Kitchen has the basic necessities. The wrap around deck is great to sit on to enjoy the weather and the view of the pond. I was able to arrange a brief wine tasting with Tyler. Decent swimming in the pond. Nice walk around the pond to the other cabin. Only disappointment was the kayaks, rowboats & paddle boats were full of water after an afternoon downpour--no one came around to check on the their condition or empty the water.
Here are things you need to be aware of if you decide to stay here:
1. They have the option of renting out the tasting room for evening parties. We arrived for a relaxing quiet evening of setting on the deck to find a loud class reunion going on so we had to stay in the loft. It was very noisy and we could tell you word for word about every conversation because all that separates the loft from the tasting room is sliding glass.
2. Having a TV in the unit doesn't mean you can wake up and watch the news, the only thing you can use it for is watching movies or using Netflix.
3. If you read reviews about being greeted with a bottle of wine, didn't happen in our case and we stayed for 5 nights.
4. Bring a bar of soap as they only have a wall dispenser that squirts a teaspoon of soap at a time. Honestly at that rate it would take you hours to get clean.
5. Bring Kleenex if you need to blow your nose as you won't find any in the unit.
6. Last but not least, we left feeling ripped off and here is why. They had a notebook with information and a price list included, in the notebook it lists the prices for a weeknights and weekends. In our case we paid substantially more for our 5 night stay.
a wonderful getaway! looking forward to my next visit!
