Review of Jim Byford Cypress Knee Lodge
Although this lodge is made up of mobile home modules, it certainly doesn't have a mobile home "feel". It is very roomy with an excellent arrangement of living rooms, bedrooms, and kitchen. For our group, the connected pier with a large module over the water was just what we needed to sit for group conversations and to enjoy the stunning lake view. We had 13 people to comfortably stay overnight, and there were 35 people there during one day without feeling crowded.
Importantly, Jim Byford and his cleaning staff were extremely accommodating and did whatever they could to make our stay enjoyable.
Thank you Jerrell! Jim
My family (from Ohio, Oklahoma, Arizona, and Colorado) loved the quiet and beauty of this place. The house was comfy, there were plenty of dishes, glasses, etc. and we appreciated having a washer and dryer available. Fishing off the dock at sunrise was fabulous!
Thank you Jane--very glad you had a good time! Jim
The overall experience was phenomenal. A beautiful home set right on the lake with a sizeable pier.
The home was nice and clean when we arrived, with a considerable amount of provided amenities such as dishes, cookware, seasonings, sheets, towels board games and cards. There was enough provided wood to light a nice fire to cook smores around, and when the mosquitoes got too bad the provided internet and cable was a nice reprieve. When we have time we will definitely be rebooking.
Thank you Jamie! We look forward to having you again. Jim
The perfect place for our family"s celebration
This house was the perfect house for us It was downright homey. We had plenty of bathrooms & bedrooms for the 23 of us. The dining table was too small for our group but perfect for a smaller group. We brought extra folding tables so we all could sit down together.
Loved the deck and pier--spent a lot of time outside. The fishermen in our group spend a lot of time fishing from the pier. We brought our own kayaks and had a ball kayaking in the lake. We had a great time. The weather man was very good to us. It was sunny, warm and breezy.
We found a beach and walking paths close by. there was something for every age .
I have just one suggestion; a new broom and dust pan would make little messes easier to take care of.
I am so glad you and your family had such a good time and found the lodge to suit your needs. Welcome back any time! Jim
It was the perfect place for a cozy gathering with all our cousins and their young families!
We had a great time with all our cousins. Cypress Knee Lodge is a cozy place in the middle of nature for spending quality time together. It was just the right size for our 5 families. Jim helped us with local information for outdoor activities. We did the pontoon boat tour of the lake, hiked in the wildlife refuge, and swam in the Washout. If you love Birding - Eagles, Ospreys, Herons, Egrets, etc - this is a great place to visit. The sunsets are simply gorgeous.
Thank you Jay--glad you enjoyed your visit! Jim
Nice clean place. Great for large groups. Will easily sleep 20.
This place has a beautiful view of the lake. Easy access to great fishing. It is on the south end of the big basin so if it’s windy it could be hard to get out. The dock is very large. Had it’s own ramp to put boats in. We had a great stay. Not many fish (that’s June though) but good times with family. We’ll be back
Thank you! I'm glad you had a good visit. Jim
