About Elise

Montana has been my home for the past 20 years. I came here from a big city to work a summer job in Yellowstone Nat'l Park. I soon became a Yellowstone Park Tour Guide and spent the next 10 years living and working in the Park both Summer and Winter. Since 2007 I have worked at a local 4-star guest ranch that offered exclusive Yellowstone Park tours to their guests. During this time I met my husband James who is now retired from his cleaning business. Together we bring a wealth of experience in hospitality and Montana knowledge (especially Yellowstone Nat'l Park, Fishing & Hiking) to help you have the best & most enjoyable experience during your stay in Montana. We are available to help you choose the best adventures during your stay and answer questions you have.

Elise purchased this cabin in 2016

Why Elise chose Yellowstone Country

This is our second year hosting this newly built cabin. We have had nearly 100 guests that have given us top 5-star ratings on popular hosting websites like this one. My background is in hospitality at local 5-star guest Ranches and Tour Guiding in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park. This cabin was inspired by my joy sharing this amazing landscape and the Yellowstone Experience.

What makes this cabin unique

What could be better than to have a Host who is also a Yellowstone Tour Guide? If you have questions about what activities to do, best hikes in or outside the Park, fishing areas . . . etc. I am available and full of knowledge to share.

Beautiful Place in a Beautiful Place

  • 5 of 5

A lovely, well appointed place on an absolutely gorgeous property--and Elise could not be more generous with her time and expertise about Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons.

It was the perfect stop-over for us to end our drive from Glacier Park and get ready for a few days in Yellowstone. A great porch for sunsets and star-gazing. One night (or more) here and you'll know why they call it "Paradise Valley."

The cabin was absolutely charming.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was picture perfect and I sure did take a lot of pictures- from the beautifully decorated interior to the outdoor landscapes which were ever changing. Elise was very friendly and informative about the area. I would recommend this property as a home away from home. We enjoyed the drive into Yellowstone but also enjoyed the drive back knowing we had a little piece of paradise waiting for us.... this roomy, well appointed cabin!

Comfortable stay, convenient location, nice views

  • 5 of 5

This is a very nice rental property. The cabin was comfortable - plenty of space for cooking or lounging - and the kitchen and bathroom were well stocked. It is a convenient location (about 15 minutes from Chico Hot Springs or downtown Livingston and about 45 to Yellowstone National Park). The views are beautiful and the proprietor is friendly and helpful. Our only complaint is the last stretch of road (about a mile) leading to the house is in very bad shape. We're accustomed to daily driving on stretches of dirt road (we lived down one ourselves for a few years), but this one is particularly bad, unfortunately, and full of large rocks. This is of course is not the proprietor's fault, but it's worth mentioning if nothing else but to warn not to rush to or from the rental! Overall, a lovely stay.

Owner's Response: We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at the cabin and found it conveniently located and well stocked with extras. Thankfully our annual end-of-winter road maintenance will be getting underway soon. The road is a bit bumpy, we just take it slow over the rocky spots and enjoy the views as we travel over it on a regular basis. Again, Congratulations! and I hope to see you both sometime in the future.

Nice quiet get away

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the cabin for a short weekend getaway. It was very quiet, cozy, and comfortable. Elise was very accommodating, and wonderful! We only had to bring our food, and there were plenty of cookware, dishes, and spices to complete our meals. We have stayed at many rental properties, and this is not always the case. We spent some time at the local hot springs, at it was very convenient to come back to the cabin to eat and relax. Everything was clean and bright, and we can't wait to stay again!

Spectacular

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful views in every direction. The house was spotless and Elise took good care of us while we were there. Was nice to cookout on the grill after a long day in Yellowstone. We heard coyotes and bull elk every night from the porch and had antelope and mule deer in the yard several times. It is a drive to get to Yellowstone but there is so much to look at on the way, it didn't even matter. The Gallatin forest is close and much less crowded than Yellowstone and also beautiful. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would stay there again.

Fell in Love with this Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for the wonderful vacation in the warm -- well - decorated - nicely equipped cabin. This place is charming, comfortable and inviting. The view of the mountains is awesome and watching the antelope right outside our window one morning was breath taking. We were celebrating our 28th anniversary and it could not have been nicer. We had snow the first day in Yellowstone Park which was awesome for us after traveling from Tulsa's 100 + degree days. The rest of the weeks weather was wonderful and our hostess made it all great. The cabin has everything you need --full kitchen-- bedroom ---bath and living area but the front porch area is a treasure ... We loved sitting there in the evening and another unexpected thrill was the full moon we had the last couple of nights that shown on the mountains and big sky -- We would defiantly come back if we ever visit Montana again and Yellowstone. The owners meet and greet you and if you need anything they are there but respect each other's space. Defiantly a five star rating.

The cabin is centrally located and only 40 min. drive to Yellowstone National Park ( we recommend 2 days for Yellowstone). Stay a few days more and go whitewater rafting, horseback riding or rent a boat (the river access is only 2 miles from the Cabin, and we offer boat parking). If you enjoy day hikes we can provide you with many options that will lead you into a petrified forest or to a spectacular waterfall. If you enjoy old west history, a short 15 mile drive will take you to the historic railroad town of Livingston (1880).
