Often called "the open air museum" of North America, the neighbourhood is all you're looking for when you come to town. Old Montreal is where it all started back in the 1600s, and it's all kept amazingly intact, with abundance of character, charm, conviviality, shopping and entertainment. just open your building door and you're in it!
Very simple and practical, the metro station (place d'armes) is 6 minutes walking distance, or metro champs de mars (5 minutes), Bixy station (public bicycle rentals) is right down the street from your building in summer time, and you can catch the bus 55 that will take you uptown and Plateau area from notre dame street (one street up from yours), and of course you're on one of the busiest street so taxis are always a whistle away or you can always call for an Uber:)
