All we could have wished for.
We visited Barcelona with my brother in law and friend. I was a little nervous because the pix were too beautiful. I am happy to say all was as advertised. Arian, the owner, was so helpful and what he has done to apartment is so tasteful. Please disregard the single not so good review. This place is terrific! The location could not be better, you can walk to almost everything and can eat to your hearts content within a few blocks of the apartment. Barcelona is a wonderful city and this apartment is the perfect home base
The apartment was quaint and the location perfect! The owner was charming and very helpful. The space does need some work...A/C not working properly, dryer not working, multiple burnt out light bulbs, freezer plugged and leaking water onto the kitchen floor. And no provision made for parking. These are easy to fix and when done will get a 5 star rating.
Great location for Conference/Congress attendee or Tourist
The flat was perfect for our needs. We are two couples that attended a medical conference in Barcelona, and then had a few days to enjoy the city. The location was perfect to walk to all the city sites, and the apartment was near the bus and Metro. There are many good restaurants and pubs nearby that serve great food. Also, there are several convenient markets and wine stores.
The beds were very comfortable; and the two full baths were very convenient for 4 people getting ready. The kitchen and laundry facilities were great as well. I would recommend this apartment.
Would stay again
Good Eixample location, nice neighborhood and easy walk or short taxi to most BCN areas; check in was seamless, and the property owner/manager was responsive several times when I had questions. We really enjoyed the 3 balconies, especially the larger one with table and 2 chairs directly over the intersection below; excellent for morning coffee but in the sun in the late afternoon. 2 large bedrooms. A heads-up to longer term renters - the dryer dries but doesn't spin so it really isn't working; a drying rack was provided and we used it.
The host you makes you feel like family!
From the moment we walked into the apartment, my family and I were in awe not only due to the fabulous, prime location, but because our host (Arian) did everything possible to make us feel welcome! He is kind, generous, and very detailed in what he prepares for his guests. Arian has a bottle of wine and some snacks waiting for us, which came in handy after traveling all day, and offered many suggestions so we could enjoy our time in Barcelona. Arian is super easy to talk to and truly made us feel like family. We were so comfortable at his luxurious, spacious apartment and could not think of even considering going anywhere else when we return to Barcelona. Also, Arian’s final touch was speaks of his great character as he had a gift for my seven year old before we left. Arian you are the best and I cannot wait to see you again!
When we arrived we immediately felt very uncomfortable and sad as we walked into this apartment. We were taken back by how completely different the Apartment looked compared to the amazing pictures posted on the site. We walked in to broken mis-matched furniture, and old dusty strange decor that looked nothing like the pictures. We also walked into a host that was nervous and trying to cover up what he knew was false advertising. We paid top dollar for a place that just wasn't.
We had 2 towels for 5 of us. We had half rolls of toilet paper and ran out in the first day. We had no pods for his special coffee maker which he assured us he would replenish and he never bothered until the night before we left he finally offered. Arian also begged us to not write a bad review and in turn he would take money off the rent and credit us. He never did. I have rented over 40 different homes through various sites and never has this been so bad. We were so disappointed because this was the start of our vacation and it was definitely not what we anticipated. He then said that the apartment advertised was not available, and that it would be available the next day. It never was and he never showed us or showed up until the last night to offer us the toilet paper and coffee pods that should've been replaced the first night. He did leave a pack of toilet paper for us that last night along with a plant which we could not take and a bottle of cava to smooth things over. He tried and begged us for a way to make things better but we never were given the flat that was posted on the site, the flat that we paid top dollar for. He never gave us supplies that should be provided by a good host and he fed us lies and is a false advertiser. I know people have rated him high, and maybe his other places are nice, but this place IS NOT what we saw and you should be very cautious and ask exactly what you are getting when dealing with this host. A positive is that the location is good. There are lots of great restaurants and walking to sites is not too far. Arian mentioned that it was dangerous and we needed to be cautious, but I did not feel uncomfortable walking around at night or anytime. Pictures are deceiving as is the host. Beware!
Around 1850, with the beginning of industrialisation born the L'Eixample area thata was designed by the city planner Ildefons Cerdà.
Cerdà had the floor plans of American cities as a model. Cerdà saw the streets with wide and generously extended crossings (Passeig de Gracia has six lanes), to highlight the crossings were blocks to the chamfered corners.
The blocks are all square and have a big yard, but most of today is built. From the original idea Cerdàs, there is plenty of green for the residents to provide very little remains.
1859 was the controversial development plan approved by the town council.
The middle part of L'Eixample is often called "Quadrat d'Or", golden square, describing the elegance of this area. The north main road
