Looking out of the large windows on the snow covered trees was stunning. The sledding hill was enjoyed by the kids. The house had everything that our group needed. Very comfortable and relaxing experience.
Nick and Marissa have an amazing property and are such wonderful hosts. They responded promptly to any questions or concerns we had. My family already wants to book next years reunion with them again.

Thank you for your kind words... please come back soon!
Our group of eight friends from our college days. Great location for the activities we had planned, which included a tour of Hillsdale College. A very comfortable house that more than met all of our needs.
We stayed in the house for our son and his fiancé’s graduation from Hillsdale with our family and her family. There was plenty of room and the house was well equipped! Beautiful property with plenty of room to spread out!

We had a fantastic weekend stay at this beautiful property. The Hermitage Hills Estate is wonderful inside and out. Our campus group had plenty of space to "get away" for a weekend retreat and we loved it. Communication was fantastic and we never had to worry about anything. The kitchen was well-stocked, beds were comfortable and plenty of reading material made for a great experience. We will do it again!!!

My wife Samantha and I threw a Covid friendly wedding elopement and spent the weekend at bonfires, exploring the property, and hanging out. Nick was an excellent host. He met us at the property and made sure our stay was very enjoyable. He was great to communicate with both before and during! Nick we look forward to coming back!

Thanks, Jesse. You guys were great! Come back anytime.
House is huge. It's big enough that if you all want to do something together you can. If you want to spread out and have your own spaces to do something on your own or a small conversations you can. We barely saw the kids. They would get up in the morning and head out to fish the ponds and show back up in the evening if we didn't check on them in between. They had gray fish stories, good enough to get the men down fishing! We loved how laid back the managers are and the communication was great. We had ages 10 to 83, and everybody was happy. I do suggest if you can bring your own golf cart, fire wood, pool sticks, and long lighters.
When I first stumbled upon this beautiful home , it seemed almost too good to be true. There must be a catch! But everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Nick is the most thoughtful and gracious host. He provided us with all the information we needed and showed us around. The home is perfect and I would definitely return!

We stayed here with our 7 children. More beautiful than pics can show. Wonderful host, who helped with all questions. Beautiful property to hike, fish, and explore!! The house is beautiful, clean and spacious. We would love to come back again. Great yard space and playground for kids. Absolutely serene property. Even though we were secluded food and groceries were only 10 mins away. Fully stocked kitchen. Thanks nick for sharing your property with us and being so available!!

Our son and his wife graduated Hillsdale College May 2025. We booked our stay here a year in advance wanting to be sure to get the Heritage House again. Back in 2023, our first son Graduated from Hillsdale and we stayed here with family and friends. This is the PERFECT place! It easily sleep large crowd on 3 levels, has lovely indoor and outdoor seating and eating areas, and the kitchen is set up to feed a crowd. The owners are quick to respond even bringing ice to us when we were short notice. We hosted a graduation party after the ceremony and it was a lovely setting for all ages to enjoy the atmosphere and memorialize the occasion to be something special. We used local restaurants to bring in food and they are delicious and helpful also. We have 1 more son graduating in 2027 and will use Hermitage House again!

What an awesome property and experience!
What an awesome property and experience! Nick and Marisa do a great job making you feel welcomed with some of the little extras like farm fresh eggs and welcome cookies.
My family along with other family, 4 adults, 4 kids, stayed for 4 nights and it was perfect. A lot of room to spread out. We were not tripping over each other. There was so much to do....swimming, kayaking, fishing, hiking, eating. Lots of eating, which was made possible by a fantastic kitchen with modern appliances.
Since we were so active, the kids and adults (clothes) eventually got dirty, the washing machine and dryer were at our disposal. That came in real handy.
What was really awesome was that if we needed anything, Nick and Marisa tried their best to accommodate us. And once again, they did a fantastic job.
Thank you Nick and Marisa. We will be back!

Our annual family reunion was a great success due to the property we found on VRBO. The Heritage Hills Estate is fantastic, and everything that the listing say that it is. I could go on and on about our stay, but I'll hit a few highlights. It starts with the owner, Nick, who met us at the property and explained how everything works. He communicated with us every day to make sure we were happy. We work up one morning and did not have hot water. Imagine (20) people not to be able to shower. We phoned Nick and he told care of it immediately. The estate is practically sound proof. I spoke with everyone in our group and everyone said it was a beautiful place to stay. The fish were not biting the whole time we were there, but i couldn't blame Nick for that. Highly recommend for a big group meeting

Beautiful venue. Very picturesque. Host responds to questions quickly.
BUT BE AWARE.
PRICE is based on per person staying per night, not necessarily what you find during your search. Non-refundable once booked. We had an additional bill sent to us that raised the cost by over 50% prior to staying! And per their notebook, day guests are an additional charge (PLEASE READ THE FINE PRINT if you are considering booking)
I was disappointed that my initial costs substantially increased once all the added fees from VRBO and HOST were added after a non-refundable booking due to the aforementioned items
Beds are extremely hard, it felt like we were sleeping on a box spring. Most of the beds were like this. Also, different sites have different bed breakdowns, there are no futons.
There is no bathroom downstairs where the 7 queen beds are.
The playground needs some TLC, and was unsafe, due to the state it was in and poison ivy the kids were not able to use it.
There is a shoes off in house policy. This would have been nice to know prior. Stairs are carpet and extremely slick, with a very wobbly railing.
Also, HOST greets you to let you in and he was almost always within 200 meters of the house. He stays at the trailer close by and was seen often when walking outside or roaming the property.
Based on the description our expectations were met and we were happy to have plenty of beds and bathrooms for 14 adults for graduation at Hillsdale College which is about a 20 minute drive away.
Our expectations were exceeded by the host for communications and caring about our stay. Please note that although the listing states ir sleeps a lot of people, you have to pay extra for those people. Well worth it! Plenty of parking, all big beds, linens, towels, full kitchen stocked with all you need to cook meals as well as coffee etc.
The grounds are sweet and peaceful and quiet. The house is clean and olderbt tasteful with all modern conveniences including wifi that reaches all over.
The attached garage has a BBQ and extra tables for outside gather which we used unexpectedly and enjoyed the lovely spring weather and blossoms everywhere!
The price is steeper than we wanted, but because we wanted everyone in one place for the graduation, it actually was much nicer and cheaper than other stays. Also the house is so big there are several sitting areas, libraries, piano, organ, just many spaces to be.
Note: the road is dirt gravel last 1/2 mins to get there that posed us no issues but may bother some persons. Not us!

Plenty of room for our entire team and we were secluded from everything.
We had a quick, busy visit to Hillsdale for graduation weekend and was able to call this property "home" again. Everything was perfect as usual! Nick & Marisa are amazing hosts and always available if we needed them. Hillsdale College parents, this is a great choice to accommodate extended family during weekend events!!
