The house is in a beautiful location looking west across Casco Bay. The home is very comfortable and well maintained. The kitchen is fully stocked The bedrooms are very comfortable. Kathleen is a wonderful host a joy to visit with and very helpful.

What a view

Only reason I gave accuracy of listening four stars, is that the photos don’t do the place justice! Comfy, well stocked, amazing view and great area for walking the dog.

Amazing Stay on the Coast of Maine

Accommodations were amazing and in the middle of where we like to explore on vacation. Tremendous log cabin, we had stayed on the property previously numerous times in another location. The Cary family are gracious hosts and I just can't say enough good things about the experience. Thank you so much Kathleen and Lois, we love Orr's Island !

Beautiful! Comfortable! Friendly!

Everything we needed was there. We didn’t have to pack a lot of extras. Very friendly and communication, easy beautiful home in a lovely area. Pet friendly. Highly recommend.

Casco Bay/ Orr’s Island

The Ryan House was a very unique costal experience. The house is cozy. Location could not be better. Inside house, sound travels easily. Does not deter from the awesome property/deck/dock.

Great time

The house is in a beautiful setting overlooking Casco Bay. It is on a very quiet road surrounded by mature trees with a clear view of the bay. There is a short walk down to the water. The house is very well supplied and the kitchen has more than enough to prepare any meals you would want. The bedrooms and living areas are comfortable and well supplied. The porch is incredible. Ms Kathleen is a wonderful and friendly host. I highly recommend this property and hope to return again.

Maine Bucket List

A dream came true with our visit to Harpswell Maine. The cabin was beyond perfect. Kathleen was a wonderful hostess. Her place is beautiful and inviting. My husband and daughters were so happy the entire week. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was completely organized. The view from the porch was calming . Never wanted the sun to set as that meant another day ended. So want to return as we consider Kathleen a friend

Kathleen's house was the perfect place to unwind, smell the salt water, play board games and cards at night, and with plenty of great places to eat out when we didn't feel like cooking at "home." I've never been in a rental that had absolutely everything we needed for cooking, and it's all good stuff, not crappy garage sale stuff. Everything worked. The porch was magical and we wanted to be there all the time watching the duck families and birds and the sparkle of the sun on the water. But we pulled ourselves away to visit Brunswick, Freeport, and Portland. The house was immaculate and very comfortable - it truly felt like home. There are two bedrooms upstairs with a full bathroom in the middle, and one bedroom and a full bathroom downstairs. It was a great setup for the four of us. Kathleen is a wonderful person and so helpful with suggestions and answers to all our questions, and just fun to chat with. It was a great experience that we will all look back on fondly.

What a view

Due to Covid19 we weren't able to visit all the places we normally do while in Maine, so we were very happy that we stayed at the Carey Cabin. The place we usually stay at on Orrs Island has a permanent renter so we had to find another dog friendly place. We lucked upon the cabin. My husband spent a great deal of time fishing off the dock. The dog and I chilled on the large back porch enjoying the amazing view. The kitchen was well equipped which allowed us to cook lots of lobster and other meals. We found a couple with a fenced yard near by that also had a border collie and we visited a few times to let the dogs play. And Bella, the owners puppy even came out to the cabin's yard and played a few times. One thing to note: There is no trash pickup. You have to bring your trash to the local recycle center - very short drive. We have weather tech floor mats, so it wasn't a big deal for us, but for those who don't have floor/seat protection may want to bring something to put your trashbags on while transporting. We are already planning our next visit. Thanks so much Kathleen for sharing your lovely home.

Peaceful Retreat with Nature Adventures

Our host, Kathleen, was very pleasant and accommodating. The property had everything we needed for relaxation and offered MANY options to discover the amazing beauty of nearby natural attractions. If you want to shop or seek festivals and similar public events, they are readily available in the immediate area (more so in the summer) or in nearby Brunswick and Portland during the fall. Our stay was everything that we wanted and we would rent from Kathleen again!

Log Cabin

Keep in mind, log cabin is dark, otherwise lovely. Enjoyed sitting on the back porch, would have enjoyed more view of the water, trees are mature blocking a wider view.

Relaxing log cabin with a view

We had a wonderful week long stay. The cabin had everything we needed and having the owner nearby was great for any questions or help. The place was way larger than we expected - pictures don’t do it justice. We loved spending time on the back porch overlooking the water. The location on Orr’s island was perfect for exploring the area - lots of little islands and scenic peninsulas. There was a small convenience store / restaurant a few minutes down the road otherwise it’s about 20 minutes to the grocery store on the mainland. Our favorite place for fresh lobsters (Allen’s Seafood) was about 15 min drive. All the roads are so scenic - we just enjoyed the ride. We had 4 adults in our part, a couple with mobility limitations and the house was great for us - lots of room and easy to maneuver. The owner was very helpful and responsive - we really appreciated being able to stay an extra night when we were delayed at the start of our trip due to a medical emergency with one of our dogs. Wonderful property!!

Beautiful spot to unwind

The Cary House is spacious and very comfortable, Kathleen's a wonderful host and has supplied everything you need for a perfect vacation. We had beautiful weather and spent most of our time on the porch watching the boats. Boothbay is close enough for a day of exploring and boat excursions. Thank you for a terrific week in your cabin!

Amazing place to stay

This is our second year at the cabin. We love coming here. My husband loves to spend time down at the dock fishing and our border collie loves the outdoor space. We visit the beach across the bay many days (Stover's Point Beach - do not attempt without 4 wheel and high clearance) and Funky Bow Brewery on the weekends. The cabin has lots of room but we find ourselves gravitating to the back porch that overlooks the bay. Thanks so much Kathleen for another amazing vacation.

Beautiful view from the deck

Wonderful spacious vacation home with every amenity needed. We lived on the deck overlooking the bay and each stroll through the town uncovered local serenity. Walking distance to several restaurants and churches. And the ice cream and homemade candy store – perfect for the take home gifts!

Magically Maine

Everything was perfect! Our family stayed here for a week and had a wonderful time. The home is beautiful and Kathy was an excellent host. The home was fully furnished with everything we could need. Highly recommend a walk to Salt Cod Cafe for morning pastries and evenings spent on the porch. An amazing experience!! 😊

Most lovely of times ...

You would be missing out on a fabulous memory if you did not stay here. Kathleen is one of the most lovely of persons i have ever met and her home is the same. Impeccable log cabin home with the finest attention to warm details. You do not feel like you are staying at a rental home, you feel like you are in a warm home. The furnishings, art work, amenities make you sit and look around and smile. All the furniture in the home so comfortable and inviting. The home is so very clean, so very well kept and updated (fresh paint etc). Everything you need .. you won't miss a pot or pan for sure ! I have never sat so much on vacation as I couldn't wait to get up to sit on the porch and just watch, and couldn't wait to do the same as soon as I got home. Perfect location. Orrs, Bailey and Harpswell .. so easy to get to, as well as Bath and Brunswick and local state parks. We stayed nearby as it was so welcoming. Kathleen was so generous with the dock and property and our kayaks. We DID not like to leave, and we don't feel like we stayed at a rental home we feel like we made a family friend. Did I say how clean??? How warm? How inviting ? How great? Would recommend over and over and over.

Very pretty location and nicely appointed log home for the lodge feeling enjoyed every hour.

Close to Reeds and Popham state beaches which are treasures of Maine.

Great stay!

If you're looking for a quiet getaway, this is a great find! Right on the water with the opportunity for a lot of outdoor activities. Plenty of space & well kept - would definitely return.
