Privately situated Cape Cod house perched on top of the Harpswell Sound in North Harpswell, Maine with two seaside decks and cozy interior. The house has expansive southerly views of Harpswell Sound and a large field/yard flowing down to the shore line. Located just 6 miles from Brunswick and Bowdoin College with the shops of Freeport & L.L. Bean and Portland nearby as well. The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths with a separate (seasonal) large 4th bedroom & 3rd bathroom above the Boat House garage. Other features include water views from every room, a lovely wood burning fireplace, private primary bedroom on the first floor, private stairs from lower deck to the shore, eat-in kitchen & breakfast bar, separate dining room, washer/dryer, microwave oven, coffee maker, Keurig, high-speed internet & WiFi, gas grill, and more. One of 4 homes on a private 50 acre compound that was once an old salt water farm that dates from the 1750's.

- Great restaurants in Harpswell with The School House just up the road along as well as Cooks Lobster & Ale and The Dolphin nearby.

- Eating in, perhaps out on the lower deck? Fully equipped kitchen at the house for your convenience.

- A large selection of wine and craft beer is just a short walk from the property entrance (across the street) at Black Sheep Wine Shop.

- Just up the street is the Corner Market, which is a seasonal market filled with local produce and groceries, as well as delicious homemade breakfast pastries, sandwiches, salads, cookies, etc.

- A number of lobster pounds in area to pick up fresh catch and cook at the house (lobster pot provided)

- Kayaks can be rented nearby and stored at the house. Easily launch from the private stairs into deep water of the Harpswell Sound.

- A number of hiking trails in area including one well within walking distance from house

- Golf courses nearby

We had great weather for a Thanksgiving holiday stay with spectacular sunrise views from every room, any amenity we could possibly need, the most comfortable beds and easy communication with the host concerning any questions. It was mainly my husband and myself for nine days and two adult daughters who came for the weekends. My son and family live a mile away on the Mountain Rd. and while their home is currently undergoing construction, we got to bring our two grandchildren over here for a few afternoons during their school vacation. Thanks again Sarah for a peaceful vacation!

Absolutely wonderful! Our first time to Maine and this cottage was perfect! The views were so awesome!! and it's very peaceful and secluded! Plenty room inside and kitchen very well stocked. Main floor bedroom and bathroom made it perfect for my 86 years young Momma!There are some steps going down to the cottage from where you park, but we managed just fine! Harpswell offers plenty of great places to eat lobster rolls!! I highly recommend this sweet cottage!! hope we can plan a return trip next year!!

Beautiful setting on Maine Coast

Wonderful house with gorgeous views. Well equipped kitchen. Dining seats 6 people. Several deck chairs and umbrella table. Additional boathouse with bath at top of property provides additional sleeping arrangements. (4 bedrooms and 3 baths). Great for 3 couples with own bath or larger family. We would stay again!

The property was just as described. So many hiking trails in the area. Close to everything if you can pull yourself away from the waterfront and relaxing on on of the decks.

Top of the Sea was top notch

I had a wonderful stay at ā€œTop of the Seaā€. The view from the deck and living room was fantastic. I was amazed at how fast the tide comes in and out. My friends who stayed with me for part of my stay were really taken with all the sea birds that they saw. The house is close to Brunswick, which makes it easy to go shopping or to visit some of the local restaurants. The kitchen is well stocked with lots of pots, pans, utensils and dinnerware for those nights when I stayed home. My vacation was the BEST!!! Lee

Charming home

Everything about our stay was perfect. Excellent communication, easy check-in and check-out, comfortable beds and linens, well stocked kitchenā€¦ā€¦and the views!! An amazing stay. Should be noted that if you have mobility issues this may not be the perfect place for you. Many steps to get to the house from where you park your vehicle. There is one bedroom on the first floor and two on the second floor so there are stairs inside as well.

Cute house, wonderful location

Our family had a wonderful stay at this house in Harpswell. The location is phenomenal, with a gorgeous view of the water. As often as we could, we had breakfast on the deck, where we watched herons, bald eagles, and ducks on the water. The house was also very well-appointed for our stay, and well taken care of. Recommended very highly!

Great reunion in Harpswell

Our group of 5 stayed at this super cute, quaint home on the water. It was clean and ready for us when we got there. We enjoyed many evenings on the patio overlooking the water playing card games and enjoying our time as we had a reunion of friends from over 20 years ago. Beds were comfortable and we had plenty of room. Would definitely stay there again.

Great view. Great location.

This place worked well for us. We spent 3 weeks in the fall here. We found the location to be really convenient -- on the water and close to Brunswick. The view of the water was excellent. The owner was great at responding to our questions. We brought some kayaks and could paddle from right in front of the house (using the stairs down to the water). Good wifi coverage that we needed to stay in touch with work. Convenient to a couple of nearby restaurants, trails, and a nice little wine shop.

Enjoyed the quiet and solitude of the waterside location. Renters should be aware that the living room can only accommodate four people comfortably. Since we were a group of five one of us had to sit in the dining area which had no view of the TV. In addition the bathrooms are dated and could benefit from an upgrade.

1st off Will is friendly, easy going & very quick to respond to questions. House is well maintained, well stocked & clean. We enjoyed our stay very much! We do have a couple of recommendations - 1) a better address sign down by the road. We arrived in the evening & the dark sign that is presently there was difficult to see. 2) hand towel rings on either side of the main floor bathroom sink would be helpful. 3) in the main bathroom again, the bar holding the shower curtain was put up incorrectly. The curve is placed downward which causes the curtains to continuously slide open causing water spray onto the floor. That type of shower curtain rod is supposed to be place with the curve going horizontally into the room so as the curtain is level & remains closed.

Quiet & Relaxing

My husband & I wanted a quiet place to rent but also bring our adult son and a couple of his college friends to fish. The house was clean and beds were comfortable. The owner Will seems very nice and very attentive to our needs.
