The nearest local shops are at Rock about one mile and there is a pub with family restaurant at Pityme approximately a 5 minute walk and in St Minver there is a post office and pub serving food , there are several pubs and restaurants in the area doing food delivery. Rock beach is about 1.5 miles away, and has a sandy beach, sailing and water ski facilities and a foot ferry operating to well known Padstow, the surfing beach at Polzeath is just under 3 miles by road or a 30 minute walk across the fields.

The attractive fishing village of Port Isaac is a short drive away , as is the shopping town of Wadebridge with supermarkets, a leisure centre, cinema and bicycle hire. The Camel Trail, ideal for walkers and cyclists, and several golf courses including The Point and St Enodoc are all close by. There are also stunning coastal walks .
