Stunning Renovated Savoyard farmhouse chalet overlooking Samoens Valley
Ferme Soujon sits above the town of Verchaix in the hamlet of Cossin and looks out into the valley across to Morrillon and Samoens with their gondola's providing access to the extensive Grand Massif ski area.
A great location for exploring the mountains in both the summer and winter months, with a short walk to forest footpaths and nature walks and min drive to ski gondolas.
The farmhouse has been renovated to the highest standards; marrying contemporary design whilst retaining many original features. The farmhouse is on 3 floors with 7 superbly finished bedrooms all with on-suites. The spacious living areas are ideal for large families and groups looking to enjoy both summer and winter breaks. With ample parking for 5 cars and a ski boot room, guests will have a perfect base to explore the slopes or just relax in the luxurious surroundings...
As you approach the property, you will arrive at the first driveway, located directly next to the house (with 3/4 parking spaces). There is another 2/3 spaces for parking further up the road on the other side of the house. For guests renting the entire property, there are 2 entrances (one at the top of the house on the first floor, leading directly into the main open plan living space) and the second directly off the first driveway, leading into the downstairs hallway and boot room/washroom/storage room (this is the entrance used majority of the time).
The property is split over three floors with two stunning living and dining areas, both with amazing views over the valley. Both living spaces also host stunning log burners that really kick out the warmth on those cold winter nights! The two balconies and the under the roof seating area, offer the perfect vantage point to sit and enjoy the mountains or even for guest to gather for al fresco dining (weber bbq provided for summer months). Both living spaces have smart TVs and there is wifi throughout the entire property.
There are 2 kitchens, both fully fitted with all the necessaries to make your self-catering stay as convenient as possible. There is also a utility room just off the first floor kitchen.
All bedrooms are fitted with high-end mattresses and luxurious bedding meaning a comfortable night's sleep at the end of the day!
The 7 en-suite bedrooms cater for 14 people (or 16 with 2 pull out mattresses in one of the smaller twin bedrooms… ideal for children).
Each en-suit bathroom has been fitted to the highest standard, all with fabulously large rain showers (and one bathtub in bedroom 5 for that much needed soak after a day on the slopes!)
Accessibility: The ground floor consists of 3 bedrooms (and en-suits), one kitchen, dining space and living space and a bootroom, making this compatible for anyone who might struggle with stairs.
Additional option: renting the 3 bedroom ground floor apartment on its own for smaller groups.

We had a great skiing holiday here with the whole family.
The spacious living areas & well-equipped kitchen were ideal for such a large group.
Also the view & the jacuzzi are a real bonus.
However, a car is necessary in this area.
Nous étions 16 et le chalet est idéalement prévu pour 14 personnes mais avec 3 enfants ca n'a pas été un problème le chalet est très bien rénové avec une vue imprenable. Séjour agréable et dépaysant
Entirely renovated, comfortable, spacious and well equipped chalet
We enjoyed every minute of our stay in this spacious and luminous chalet. Great south facing terrace as well enabling us to enjoy every minute of the December sun. The owner was very responsive to all our queries. The perfect chalet to gather with family or friends with large while cozy living-room by the fireplace and large kitchen and dining area. We also particularly enjoyed the second living-room downstairs with beautiful view overlooking the valley, perfect for our students who needed separate and calm areas. All bedrooms come with a perfect separate bathroom and perfect beds.
We hebben een heerlijke wintersport vakantie gehad, de woning voldeed aan al onze wensen

A high standard finish chalet in Verchaix
Our group of eleven checked in on Friday 28th December for a New Year ski trip in Samoens. On arrival we were instantly amazed by the fine detail and home touch Richard and Anna had included within their renovation. 7 bedrooms all with en suites; some of which have stunning views of the valleys. The comfort of the beds/pillows were extra special agreed by all. Two log burners, one in each in living space. The chalet is well insulated with thermo stat dials in each room to suit each need. The kitchen is fully equipped right down to the untensils. You do have to recycle all your waste where bins are located close to the chalet just a five minute walk. TV and WIFI is also available. Towels are provided. Washing and drying facilities are also available including a steam iron. The chalet is a fifteen minute walk to the nearest bus stop where you can catch the free ski bus in to Samoen, times vary throughout the day but do stop service late afternoon. However there is a local taxi company that can be used. Hiring transport is advised.
Richard kept in touch before and throughout our stay and was always helpful to meet our needs and answer and queries we had.
Exceptional value for money in comparison to other chalets close by.
Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone!

Great Stay, Great Host
We spent a week in the mountain chalet for a ski trip and had a wonderful time there. Our host, Mr. Richard, is really helpful and provided great ideas that made our stay extremely wonderful. The location is really favorable and 10 minutes drive to the ski ground. Equipment is wonderful as well and newly decorated.

About the host
Hosted by Richard & Anna
Richard & Anna (and family) first discovered Samoens in 2008 and since then have spent many summers and winter holidays in the valley exploring the amazing surroundings.
Why they chose this property
The couple spotted the farmhouse whilst exploring the mountains and decided the opportunity to renovate this magnificent property with outstanding views over the Giffre valley was too good to pass up.
What makes this property unique
Built in 1780, the original format of the build included basic accommodation for both farmer and animals on the ground floor, with the upper floor (grange) used to store hay to feed the animals during the winter. The 2 year renovation which was started in 2016 has transformed the property in to luxurious chalet with seven bedrooms and 2 living areas, dining and kitchens, spread over its 3 floors. Nestled half way up the mountain on the sunny side of the valley... meaning sunshine all day, the property sits in a quiet hamlet, meaning hardly any car traffic, a great spot for bird watching or even heading off on a nature trail walk from.
