About this property
Gorgeous dog-friendly barn conversion near the beach - sleeps 9
Carnevas Barn is huge and impressively appointed. Full of beautiful artwork and comfy furnishings, it really offers all the home from home comforts you'd expect for a perfect holiday.
Downstairs is spacious and open-plan - the kitchen/ diner leads through to a large comfy sitting room with squashy sofas and a wood burner. There is a downstairs shower and loo plus utility - ideal for coming straight in off the beach at the end of the road.
Upstairs there are 5 bedrooms (3 double, 1 twin, 1 single), and 2 bathrooms (1 of them is en-suite). The ceilings are open-pitched so its really light and airy.
Outside you have a large walled garden at the rear and a small sunny patio at the front. A perfect place for large family gatherings! And of course dog friendly, so ALL the family is welcome.
The surrounding area is absolutely stunning - the golden sandy beach of Porthcothan is at the end of the road (an 8 minute walk). Plus there are 6 more beaches to choose from all within a couple of miles. We are situated on our own working farm, so you have direct access to beautiful tranquil countryside. Our land borders onto the SW coastal path, and is super for walkers and 4 legged friends. We also have Padstow a 5 minute drive away, with all of its delights.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Lovely house, great location. Large and airy inside. No parking issues.
Short drive into Padstow and a 15 minute walk to the coastal path. At the end of the road is a pub with large views over looking Porthcothan beach.
All in all I would recommend for any family or group to stay here!

So glad you enjoyed your stay Oli! You and your family are absolutely delightful and always welcome back. Thank you so much for leaving everything so immaculate- it is massively appreciated:)
The overall impression of the accommodation was good. It is a spacious property with good living spaces and nice bedrooms with comfortable mattresses. The outdoor space is good and tidy but not inviting. Though everywhere else was clean, the outdoor furniture wasn’t. Possibly due to lack of use and this might link to space being not inviting? We enjoyed our stay there and it would be a five star rating if it wasn’t for a few things that let the property down, which I’ll mention so it can be useful feedback. A few lightbulbs weren’t working, the lounge has dim lighting, the water pressure was very erratic and sometimes nonexistent (the booster set is inadequate for the linked properties and doesn’t seem to cope with high demand?). The Carnevas barn complex is sited right next to the kitchens and bar facilities for the campsite. This has its perks but the downside is you get to hear all the noise of the shop/ kitchens and their early morning deliveries etc. Unfortunately the master bedroom faces this area of activity, though not everyone is affected. The campsite is very well run and the bar/entertainment area respectfully follows closing down at 11pm.

Thank you for your review and your very useful feedback. Sorry for any lightbulbs being spent- we would have happily popped over to replace them for you had we known. The cushion covers were an oversight on our part and again we would gladly have put them in the wash- please accept our apologies.
Water pressure unfortunately does suffer when our local population swells enormously in peak summer and South West Water is unable to help. We hope to install a completely new supply this winter. Thank you again for staying and especially for leaving the house so immaculate. It really is much appreciated.
The property was more than large enough for all us to spread out and relax and allow the children to play.it is not clear from the web site that the barn is attached to another property, we found we had to pull the curtains to avoid the people next door looking straight into the lounge area. The property was very comfortable, lived in and requires some TLC in places but overall we all had a great time.

I would be interested to know what TLC is needed. This customer moaned from the minute he booked until the minute he left, even though he scored the best weather of the year. Could I provide a list of restaurants? Yes I could. Was there a thank you? No. Before arrival "I'm surprised you don't provide towels/ why isn't there a cleaning service mid-stay?/ I'm surprised we have to clean the house when we leave": its all there in B&W - if you don't like the way we run our business, then book elsewhere!
Whilst staying: "there's only one loo brush in the cleaning cupboard/ the broom has seen better days/ one of the washing machine programmes doesn't work". All 3 things replaced IMMEDIATELY, despite the petty small mindedness of it all. I mean really - get down the beach in the sunshine and enjoy your holiday especially given the hideous 18 months we've ALL had with covid. Whilst you were staying my dad died, my dog had emergency surgery, and I was bed bound for a week with covid. Did you hear me moaning? No. I wish there was a filter in the booking system to block out petty moaning pessimists.
PS thanks for tipping your BBQ charcoals all over our parking area chippings: great fun to pick out by hand.
We had a wonderful holiday.
Lovely property and great location.
Will definitely return.

Thanks so much for coming Faye. Great to hear that you had a fantastic time. Thanks a million for leaving the house absolutely immaculate too - much appreciated :)
The owners of the property made this stay special and very enjoyable. They were very helpful and nothing was too much. The house was bigger than we expected and the bed were very comfortable. The location is perfect with amazing beaches all around and we enjoyed a very relaxing week.
