Bernuy-Salinero holiday lettings

Lovely hotel in the centre of Ávila. Comfy bed and the room had great A/C which was needed in the heat. The staff we met were all very nice and friendly. Breakfast was good for setting us up for the day. We parked in a car park just outside the city walls about a five minute walk from the hotel. Would recommend if staying in Ávila.

28-8-21- We left the accommodation just 2 days into our 7 day vacation. It was not secure and a health and safety risk. On arrival, we pointed out that 3 x pairs of glass sliding doors did not lock at all. Next day the owner sent an alleged “locksmith” and told us they were all fixed. Unfortunately, they were not all fixed and we complained again. The solution was to screw them all shut causing a fire escape risk. All of the 3 access points to the sloping garden had wooden steps that were not secure and rotated when stepped on which was very dangerous. We informed the owner of all this in a professional manner at the time by Whatsapp and had to leave. It is interesting to note that the last review posted was in 2017. Al día siguiente, el propietario envió a un supuesto "cerrajero" y nos dijo que todos estaban arreglados. Desafortunadamente, no todos estaban arreglados y nos quejamos de nuevo. La solución fue atornillarlos todos para que se cerraran causando un riesgo de escape de incendio. Los 3 puntos de acceso al jardín inclinado tenían escalones de madera que no eran seguros y giraban cuando se pisaban, lo cual era muy peligroso. Informamos al propietario de todo esto de manera profesional en ese momento por Whatsapp y tuvimos que irnos. Es interesante notar que la última revisión publicada fue en 2017.

Hotel was lovely, staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great with a fantastic selection. The only let down was parking was horrendous. It took us over an hour to park and there was no availability near the hotel. Not an ideal situation for the elderly.

A group of nine of us spent two nights at Casa Rural after a 600km ride from Porto. It was a great place to relax and rewind, with a lovely pop, view, garden, jacuzzi, washing machine etc. We booked both apartments, but the upstairs dining room was big enough for all of us. Although we had to use Google translate a bit, Juan Carlos was a lovely host, really helpful in sorting out taxis for us and sending home some stuff we left behind (thanks!).

Great location for exploring Avila. 15 to 20 mins easy walk from train station. Just inside the old city walls. Close to restaurants. Good sized room. Clean and comfortable. Very good communication with property.
