About this property
Casa Grecale Porto Palo of Menf
Casa Grecale is located in the ancient and picturesque fishing village of PortoPalo di Menfi, where it boasts beaches of fine golden sand and crystal clear water. This is our sea that this year has received for the twenty-first consecutive time, the blue flag. The ancient fishing village of Porto Palo stands in the middle of a wide gulf and is the main seaside resort of the territory, a place for mooring pleasure boats and a small number of fishing boats.
The village is dominated by a watchtower built in 1583 in anti-corsair function. The village climbs up on the promontory with white houses that have preserved the ancient appearance and overlooks the port, one of the ancient landings of the nearby Selinunte. Testimony of intense commercial traffic is the underwater finding of a wreck of a Roman ship wrecked between the second and first century. A. C. near the current west pier.
The coastline is of light and fine sand: here are concentrated bathing establishments, which offer essential services to bathers while leaving free access to beaches for several kilometers.
The beaches of Porto Palo have long been known for their beauty and accessibility: for over 21 years they have been awarded the Blue Flag, which every year is attributed by the FEEE to the cleanest seas in Europe, and the Green Flag, set up by the Medici Italian pediatricians for child-friendly beaches.
A rich food and wine
Those who reach Porto Palo can not miss a stop at one of the restaurants in the area. The rich food and wine, which is based on fresh local fish and local products, is one of the attractions of the small village. A glass of fresh white wine tells the stories of Inzolia and Catarratto, Grillo and Zibibbo grapes. And they are stories of joy.
