The Lodge at Lake Coma offers 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms and accommodates 12 to 15 people very comfortably with the option to rent the guest 2 bedroom cottage across the lake sleeping an additional 6 people (See VRBO 668930). 18 beautiful pristine acres teeming in wild life surrounding Lake Coma offers your own private paradise. Chickens, ducks, goats roaming with boating, swimming and fishing on the lake. The home was designed to take in the full aspect of the very beautiful lake, all rooms except for the 4th bedroom have lake views. The Lodge has a lot of sunlight due to the many windows and also very airy, has a lovely feeling, once you enter you get a very warm and lively feeling to the home. The Lodge is very open plan with large living room/dinning area. Master bedroom/ bath on the upper floor overlooking the lake with two decks and a screened in porch for dinning. The lower floor comprised of 4 more bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The second bedroom has a bathroom ensuite with the remaining 3 bedrooms sharing the 3rd bathroom. All rooms are cozy well appointed and 3rd bedroom has 2 queens and 2 single beds: this makes a great room for kids sleeping 6. The 5th bedroom is small and has two single beds but is very, very cozy and our youngest loves this room, still works for adults too.
Activities, amenities and points of interest at Lake Coma : Walking & Running We have many beautiful trails around the lake and throughout our 20 acres, perfect for a leisurely walk. The Forgotten Trail is an over grown trail tunnel that we discovered by accident some years ago, fun at night in the dark.
Fishing, swimming, boating Our 3.2 acre lake was originally built for a fishing lodge and is well stocked with some really large fish, you are welcome to fish your heart out and we have a paddle boat and canoe at your disposal too. Two docks offer a lovely place to relax on the water and also offers easy access for swimmers.
Hot Tub, Fire Pit, Covered Bridge: We have a 4 person Caldera Hot Tub located next to the home and on the lower floor over looking the lake. The Hot Tub is especially wonderful when the temperature drops in the mountains. Asheville has a wonderful 4 seasons climate and enjoys many beautiful clear days and starry nights. The Hot Tub has been a favorite by family and friends when the kids swim in the cool lake and then jump in the hot tub.
Fire Pit We have a large fire pit which has fire wood. Our cottage guest have enjoyed numerous nights by the fire pit and it is also right on the lake. A fun evening activity for the family, don't forget the marshmallows, if you do we have some.
Covered Bridge We have covered bridge with a picnic table over looking the lake, a great spot to just relax or have a picnic.
Chicken Coup We have chickens. We get fresh eggs depends on the time of the year! You are welcome to correct from the coop.

The property is really lovely and our group enjoyed the lake and the privacy. Brett and his partner were great hosts and make sure we had everything we needed. It was exactly what we needed for a big group and we would definitely stay again. The airplane noise was a little loud, but eventually we got used to it and it really wasn’t a big deal. We caught lots of small fish in the pond and had a great time. Thanks again.
Perfect Place to Relax and Enjoy Nature with Family
The lake view and grounds are beautiful. We all enjoyed feeding, petting and listening to the animals kept nearby. The home was spacious and updated and everything we’d hoped for. The kids loved swimming in the lake and riding in the paddle boats and canoes. All in all, the perfect place for gathering and enjoying our family!
We were lucky enough to stay here this past week with our family from out of town. We were able to host my wedding and it was absolutely perfect. The kids were able to use the paddle boats and loved being able to fish everyday. We have already talked about booking for another family vacation next year! We’ve never stayed anywhere that provided anything and everything we could have needed! 10 out of 10!
Just 15 minutes out of Asheville, this rental is tucked away in a secluded neighborhood with a pond.
This is our fourth VRBO rental and it easily accommodated all 14 of us. There is a lot to do on property, and an amazing array of things to do all around Asheville. Mountain biking, tubing, fishing and hiking are just a few of the activities we enjoyed.
The hosts at this property were the best. So responsive and helpful with anything we needed. They even went so far as to buy and install a baby gate for us upon our arrival! I highly recommend them! Thank you for making our family Thanksgiving great!
We chose this house to celebrate Thanksgiving with our children, their spouses and the grandchildren. We loved the open living space and the huge dining room table. The added bonus was seeing the goats and chickens! I will quote my 4 year old granddaughter: “I am so sad to leave because I loved it there and wanted to stay forever!”
We enjoyed staying at Lake Como Lodge. The house was very comfortable. The kids really enjoyed the paddle boats, the chickens, ducks and bunnies and the tire swing. We walked and jogged around the lake. The owners are very friendly and available though we had no needs. It is a nice place to spend time in Asheville.
The house was great! My grandchildren had a wonderful time swimming, boating and fishing! There was so much to do to keep everyone busy! Within 1/2 hr or so of hiking, breweries and downtown Asheville!
Home was on flight path of the airport which one would think is annoying but was kind of interesting! A great place for families to rent!
Had a marvelous time. Great house. Perfect bedroom set ups for our family of 13. Lake and hot tub were in constant use. More chairs needed near lake for lounging, so we brought our own. Great kitchen and very large dining area which was so good for our large group.
Owner was very helpful, made extra efforts to help us plan a small wedding without seeing property in advance. Very helpful to have her on site, very attentive. Great to have 2 homes on property for family reunion or small wedding. Large indoor spaces, porches, decks, dock, boats, trails huge kitchen were perfect for our group.
We loved the house and the the owner and his wife were outstanding but the winner for the grandkids were the animals, especially the goats. Brett (owner) and his wife included our grandkids on the daily feedings and medicine and they absolutely loved it. The fresh eggs were a bonus! Great location being near Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore and easy drives to Black Mountain and Hendersonville. Plenty of room for our twelve.
Mostly very good. House was clean and comfortable Everything worked well except most door latches needed repair Six of our ten people complained about the comfort of the bed The location was perfect except for jet noise from the airport. We really enjoyed the lake and dock and privacy afforded. We all agreed we would like to come back

Perfect family vacation!
We chose the lodge for a family vacation - 4 couples and 2 children. It couldn't have been more perfect. The location is beautiful and serene, but also very close to everything you need. The kids could play in the lake in the morning (or play with the goats and chickens), the adults sometimes too, and then we could all easily be in Asheville for lunch and shopping in the afternoon or on nearby hiking trails. The home is beautiful and well taken care of - with plenty of room for everyone - and Rumi was an amazing host (so friendly and helpful). We'll definitely be back!
Really enjoyed this very unique property situated on a peaceful lake. We had 3 families with kids and there was so much to do (hiking, fishing, paddle boating, even feeding a variety of animals). Located centrally enough to easily get to a variety of locations around Asheville. We did a lot of cooking and kitchen was stocked and had a huge table for all of us to gather around. The owner is very nice and receptive to concerns; he even set up a Christmas tree for us as we were here over the holiday. Only minor complaint is house is a little dated downstairs with the heat only partially working which keeps it pretty chilly.
