Charming cottage in village location near Durham

A 150 year old stone built cottage in the village of West Rainton three miles from Durham City. It faces the small village green and village hall, has a comfy sitting room and suitable for 4/5 guests with facilities to cater for babies or toddlers. The two bedroom cottage is cosy and West Rainton is close to the A1 and A19, ideally placed for guests who would like to visit County Durham, Durham City, the North East coast, Newcastle and Northumberland. It has Sky TV and broadband.

The cottage is a comfortable space for couples or families with children. It is situated facing the pretty village green opposite the village hall. There are two bedrooms each with a double bed, a ‘Z-bed’ and a travel cot for babies. It is fully equipped to make your stay a home from home experience. It has Sky television and WiFi to enable guests to keep in touch!

The whole cottage is available and is a good comfortable space for couples or families alike. It has good transport links and is ideally situated for visitors who wish to visit all areas within the north east of England. There is parking for one car directly outside the cottage and unlimited on-road parking nearby.

I am available to advise visitors and can provide any help required regarding places to visit and sights to see! If helpful I can organise a starter food pack of basic food items in order to make your arrival as stress free as possible.

There is a good local bus service in the village to Durham and the coast. The park and ride bus service into Durham city is a five minute drive away.

West Rainton is a small village with a regular bus service to Durham, Sunderland and the North East coast. There is a small local supermarket nearby, a fish and chip shop and Chinese takeaway in the village. Very close by is a highly acclaimed Italian restaurant. Rainton Meadows nature reserve is a fifteen minute walk through the village.

There is a regular bus service and the bus stops are a short walk from the cottage. Buses travel to Durham City, Sunderland and the coast. The A1 is a five minute drive away, the A19 a ten minute drive away and the park & ride into Durham City a three minute drive. The area is very popular with cyclists.
