Anchor Cottage was formerly a coastguard cottage and has been sympathetically refurbished to create a modern attractive holiday cottage whilst retaining many of its original features.
This holiday cottage has a fantastic setting with views of Knockalla Mountains and uninterrupted views across Lough Swilly to the mountains and the beaches of Innisowen Peninsula. The cottage is truly located in an incredible setting with some of the more beautiful coastal scenery in North Donegal and even Ireland.
Situated on the Wild Atlantic Way, Anchor Holiday Cottage is 20 miles north of Letterkenny on the "Fanad Scenic Drive". From the gable window on the first floor you can enjoy amazing views of Dunree Fort & Lighthouse.
This self catering holiday cottage has an open plan living room and dining room plus country kitchen on the ground floor. Central heating is present throughout the holiday cottage and a homely multifuel stove is located in the living room perfect for cosy winter evenings.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a freestanding fridge freezer, electric cooker, microwave, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, washing machine, dryer plus line drying is also available. On the second floor there is 1 double bedroom offering beautiful views and 1 twin bedroom plus a family bathroom.
Towels, tea towels, highchair and travel cot are provided free of charge. If you require a high chair and travel cot please remember to request them at the time of booking. Electricity is on a card meter; €10 cards are available from the On-site Manager upon arrival and oil heating is included in the rate.
This beautiful country holiday cottage has a TV, DVD and radio. Currently there is no Wi-Fi but in today's modern busy world it can be difficult to switch off and completely relax, however this holiday cottage is set in such a beautiful location we believe this is the perfect holiday destination to unwind with family and friends.
There is a wonderful large garden that the whole family can enjoy plus ample free onsite parking. This northern coastline is very beautiful and from this holiday cottage you can take time to savour the rugged country scenery and fresh sea air. Walkers, cyclists and water sports enthusiasts love this part of the Wild Atlantic Way with so many outdoor pursuits available all year-round.
Donegal International Rally is one the toughest rally challenges there is for drivers and teams. Every year in June three days of spectacular rallying takes place close to Anchor Cottage on the Knockalla Coast Road. The rally runs from Knockalla Coast Road, to the lush green farm lands of Carnhill, to the wide-open bog land landscape of the Donegal Glen.
This area has several beautiful sandy beaches and only 2.5 miles away is the Ballymastocker's Blue Flag Beach once voted the most beautiful beach in the world by a notable newspaper.
