About Cheryl Redman
I enjoy quiet activities like canoeing, bicycling, sewing, painting, gardening, and preserving habitat for the creatures I share the land and water with.
Cheryl Redman purchased this Cottage in 2016
Why Cheryl Redman chose Webster
In 2015 I stayed in the cozy cottage as a guest and loved it. When I learned that the owners had to sell, I jumped at the chance to be steward to this lovely place. It has a restorative vibe to it that is gentle and supportive. The air is clean and the solitude is sublime. Currently, I live offsite but plan to move to the main house when I retire.
What makes this Cottage unique
The property lies along the Yellow River. It is a good place to catch small mouthed bass, walleye, and northern. The water is clear and has a good stream flow. The secluded private property is a retreat complete with benches, bird houses, trails, boardwalks, two docks, a boathouse, campsite, and fire-pits. Wildlife are a daily sight!

Beautiful and cozy little cabin
As soon as I got to the cabin and saw all the beautiful woodsy land around it I knew I had found a gem. It also has a nice little river flowing through the property that would be fun to go tubing on in the summer time. It was so quiet and peaceful at night. A fun place to enjoy nature and roast marshmallows. Cheryl was so accommodating and easy to work with. It was so fun that I left wishing I had a few more days.
Cozy time over a rainy/snowy weekend
It was the perfect size for my Husband and myself. We really enjoyed the propane "wood" burning stove. It rained/snowed most of the weekend so it was super nice to have. The bed was comfy. The linens were nice, and there was an extra blanket in the closet. The kitchen was stocked nicely. Cheryl had left wood outside under the porch awning for the firepit, but it was too rainy to try. We enjoyed the two paths down to the docks which are far enough from everything that you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Definitely bring water resistant shoes to walk. There's been a lot of rain so the board walk gets a little wet. We really liked the proximity of the cabin to all the places we wanted to go hiking! We brought a lot of movies for the cold wet nights, and the DVD player and tv worked great! You do have to realize that the cabin runs off high mineral well water so there is an odor to it. It's safe to drink, but the smell can be off putting. Cheryl supplies a nice big filter pitcher so you can enjoy the water to drink without the smell. That said, we will definitely come back as we did not get to explore many of the hiking areas we wanted too because of the weather.
It truly is cozy! Since it rained all day one of the two full days we were there we really enjoyed just how cozy it was. Perfect for reading and napping. Clean, modern, and comfy. We walked down to the river after the rain and got soaked on the board walk so I'd probably recommend boots or sandals if it's really wet. We brought our boat and easily found lakes close by for fishing.
It's a beautiful little cabin in a quiet spot. I hope to come again!
So glad to hear that you enjoyed yourselves even with the rain. Yay!
The rain--we've had so much that, yes, the boardwalks are sometimes level with the water. The river is a good foot higher than usual due to all the rain--and more is on the way. Usually, the boardwalks are dry. But, it is always a good idea to have waterproof footwear for the wetland area. Thanks for the suggestion. :)
Beautiful setting, great cabin, really comfortable and clean. Everything here was modernized with a very tranquil setting.
Best weekend ever
Our stay at the cozy little cabin was great. Just what the doctor ordered. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we will be back again. Thank you again Cheryl.
Very clean & quiet. We enjoyed the hummingbirds & deer
