The Lodge on Pipe Lake is a spacious executive retreat roomy enough to hold a large family gathering. The Lodge is far enough away from the Twin Cities to feel "Up North", yet close enough that you can make it to the Lake during your little ones' naps.
Great Room, Kitchen and Dining Room
The Lodge has an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings in the great room, yet remains a warm and inviting home away from home. The great room has access to the main deck and a smaller deck off the master bedroom. Windows line three walls of the great room looking out onto this quiet end of North Pipe Lake, making this space perfect for wild life viewing and watching the gorgeous sunsets. A field stone, floor to ceiling, see through fireplace and a baby grand piano make this room so inviting it will be hard to leave! A fully equipped kitchen, with Sub Zero appliances, is a cook's dream. A six burner stove with a built in grill and double oven allows for easy, large meal preparation. The over sized fridge is perfect for large gatherings. The kitchen and connected expansive dining room also have floor to ceiling windows overlooking the lake. The dining room shares the see through fireplace and is perfect for chilly nights and long board game tournaments. However, throughout the spring, summer and fall, the protected western exposure of the main deck allows comfortable outdoor dining.
The master bedroom, with a window wall overlooking the lake, has a private entrance to one of the three decks. Little ones can share a room right off the master suite if they need to be closer to mom and dad. A large master bath with a soaking tub and separate shower makes this a true master retreat. Need some time away from the kids? This home is the perfect place - a fully insulated walkout level allows kids to have their own space yet close off their bedrooms should they need some privacy too. A separate "parent" bedroom in the walkout level allows a second set of parents to be on that level too. Windows and patio doors allow a spectacular view of the lake even for the kids. There is a wet bar and full bath in the walk out level making this a great home for two families to share.
The yard is shaded with a combination of white and red pine as well as beautiful hard wood trees including maples and oaks. Fall colors are spectacular and memories are made around the large fire pit as you roast hot dogs and eat those tasty s'mores. Take a short stroll down the steps to the lake where a large, newer pontoon is available for rent for those sunset cruises. Afternoons are spent fishing on this walleye/bass/pan fish lake, swimming, water skiing, canoeing, kayaking or just floating in the lake. Perhaps you just want to curl up with a good book on the front screened porch to enjoy the fresh air. Later you might use the porch for a late night chat or card game should the weather not be agreeable. The kitchen and dining room exit onto the huge deck made for entertaining with a large grill and easy access to the built in hot tub. The third lower deck has a hot tub that overlooks the lake and seats eight and provides a special view of a sky without light pollution. We dare you to try to count the stars!
After a full day of sightseeing, a double garage protects your vehicles from the elements. One step up makes the home easily accessible, even for older adults or people with disabilities. Although this home is equipped with a work out room and the internet, we guarantee that you will be so busy making memories, you won't have time to connect with life back home!
There are many hiking, biking, cross country and snowmobile trails throughout the area.
If you still have energy after a full day on the lake, hiking or in the winter, skiing or snowmobiling, nearby Turtle Lake offers a casino for adult entertainment. Cumberland, the Island City, has a small town charm and fantastic dining. Nearly every week throughout the summer there are local festivals, dairy feeds, art fairs and music to add to this memorable vacation.
