Thank you for sharing your comments on the lawn (or lack thereof), as it gives us the opportunity to tell more about our choice to eliminate the lawn for the benefit of the typical plants of this part of the world (to safeguard the precious water resources and the natural environment), and to transform our external space into a real Mediterranean garden. We took the decision to offer our customers, who generally choose this area because they appreciate the wonder of nature and landscape that surrounds us, a natural environment rather than a forced and out of context lawn. Obviously, this transformation needs a certain period of time for everything to appear luxuriant, but, at the end we believe the customers will really appreciate our choice! As you saw in the garden there are already several large plants: palm trees, banana trees, sterlizia, oleander, hibiscus, roses, geraniums, rosemary, lantana, aloe vera and bougainvillea, and we have recently added other Mediterranean plants - lavender, olive tree, zammara and pomelia! Regarding the washing machine and the sun beds, we inspected the Villa and can confirm everything was fine and working before your arrival. We are sorry you didn't inform us of this during your stay - every time we talked and during the housekeeping you told us that everything was going well, otherwise we would have been delighted to rectify all issues! Dear Michael, Thank you for your review and feedback - we are glad to hear you enjoyed our Villa, with its swimming pool and tranquillity of the location! We are sorry to hear about the issues with the fridge, as you know we bought a new one right away but the delivery was delayed - we thought we'd do our best by giving you the option to use the fridge in the house next door just a few steps from yours. As for the washing machine, we can confirm it is fully functional - we will now make sure to share operating instructions ahead of time! As for the taverns and beaches - we shared distance from taverns/beaches along with other information ahead of your arrival, the Villa is in a tranquil location but we do think the surrounding beaches are among the most beautiful in the Mediterranean! Dear Marc, Thank you for your review, every feedback matters to us as it helps us improve our service. We would like to clarify a few points you raised, for you as well as our future customers. We are not sure what you mean by run-down, but the shower cabins are a standard size of 80cm x 80cm. In addition to the information reported online, we sent you an email ahead of your arrival (like we always do with all customers) with all the useful information including the distance from taverns, banks, beaches, petrol stations etc, The closest village is Kampos (4km away), with its 3 taverns and a convenience shop selling groceries and other products. Elafonisi, with the supermarket you mentioned, is a 15-20 minutes drive - since Villa Asteraki is in a secluded area, unfortunately not all services and amenities will be at a walking distance. As for the pool area - the Villa does have a 5m long pergola by the pool, however when the sun starts to set (around 3pm in August) one might still have to catch some sun.. Finally, both grills provided belong to us (one being brand new), but it is a recommendation from the local authorities not to light barbecues during windy days - this is also something we share with our customers beforehand, since the Villa is surrounded by nature and olive trees.
