About Scott

The pups and I enjoy walks and play time, both at the cabin and at home. Hard to tell which of us gets more enjoyment our of our daily morning walks.

The cabin is a labor of love, and it's fulfilling to share it with guests. I take great pride in providing a welcoming and comfortable retreat for you.

Scott purchased this cabin in 2000

Why Scott chose Lake Lure

Although only a two hour drive from Kernersville, NC, the Lake Lure area is a world away from the city. The scenic vistas inspire and soothe the soul. There's something very special about hanging out at the cabin - whether on a porch or on the swing. Peaceful and welcoming.

What makes this cabin unique

The cabin is in a private setting on over a wooded acre on a gated road, yet it is convenient to a large grocery store, restaurants, and the area attractions. Being in a gated community, guests have access to a private lake with swimming beach and a scenic picnic area along the river. The town of Lake Lure with a large town beach is a 15 min. scenic drive away.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Anne,

We really enjoyed the peace, quiet, and getting back to the simple things in life at your cabin. It is very obvious that you work very hard to make sure your guests are supplied with anything they could possibly need. The kids had a wonderful time and enjoyed games and movies that are available. We look forward to coming again to your lovely cabin. Thanks a million! Helen, Kim, Derrick & Kids

Piper's Cabin feel like home.

  • 5 of 5

Piper's Cabin is so comfortable and cozy. we couldn't ask for a better place to stay. The fenced in yard is perfect for the dogs and we enjoyed sitting by the fire after dinner. Everything you need is there to make you feel at home. This was our second year of being there during the holidays. We'll definitely be back! Btw, BEARnard is a lovely addition!

Pipers cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was lovely. The area is so peaceful and quiet. You can actually see stars at night. I loved it. The dogs loved the fenced yard and spent a lot of time on the beautiful deck. Everything you need is there. You just bring the food. Hope to make another trip. The area of Lake Lure is beautiful.

Lovely, well-appointed cabin

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is very clean, charming, and well-appointed. I am not tech-savvy, but was able to navigate the TV/DVD/VHS player easily. Scott and Veronica have thought of everything - blender, mixer, toaster, tons of DVDs, videos, books, puzzles, a gracious plenty of towels, and basically everything we needed for the week except groceries. Oh, and a vase of gorgeous fresh flowers greeted us when we walked in the door! It was nice to have a choice of Keurig or Mr Coffee. The BEST part: There are 2 screened porches, with tables and chairs, and a large deck (part covered, and part not), with a wonderful swing. We had a lot of rain during the week, but enjoyed cooking meals at the cabin, and sitting on the porches with our coffee and/or wine. Lots of deer passing through - beautiful! One of our dogs is a senior with arthritis, and we really appreciated the ramp so he could get to the yard without dealing with stairs. Obviously, the Pipers really care about dogs. Lots of great recommendations for the local restaurants, but we really loved Larkin's on the Lake. Great view, service and food. If we had stayed another day, we would have gone back there. The she-crab soup was the best we've ever tasted, and we are from Charleston SC. We hope to return next summer!
