Front and rear decks for enjoying the beautiful scenery, gathering with family and friends, or savoring a quiet moment on the front porch swing! Outdoor propane firepit and indoor fireplace for cool evenings. Take advantage of all that Lake Lure and Chimney Rock have to offer -- restaurants, beaches, pontoon boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, ziplining and SO MUCH MORE!!

Wonderful week in the mountains

House was clean and more beautiful in person than on the listing. All supplies we needed such as paper towels, toilet paper, towels, and soap were fully stocked. Our puppies enjoyed running around in the fenced in yard. Overall it was a great trip

They thought of everything.

What a great place to stay. I've stayed in many vrbo's previously and this one was well thought out. They thought of everything you could possibly need. Everything was top notch. The location was great and I guarantee the roads were very good getting to the property. Thank you for a great time and we look forward to staying in your property again in the future.

Perfect Thanksgiving Cabin

Everything was just perfect!! A beautiful, cozy cabin with great rooms, quilts, fireplace, fire pit and great for a Gobble table and time and space for family games!! We would certainly stay here again!! Near to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock!! Thank Noreen and JR for your hospitality!! As a VRBO host myself, your place definitely deserves five stars in all areas! As for a few who whined in their comments about the gravel road to the cabin, what did you expect!!! You’re in the high foothills! We loved the ride up and down from the cabin! Thank you! Our family has owned JR's Cabin since 2015, and we have made a lot of wonderful memories there! It is named for our family patriarch, "JR McCoy." We retired to North Carolina from Tennessee in 2022, bought our "forever home" nearby, and wanted to offer others the chance to make some memories of their own in our little slice of heaven in the woods. Relax, set awhile on the front porch, breathe deeply ... and ENJOY!

Peace and quiet in the NC mountains! One-level cabin is perfect for gathering with family and friends on the porch or around the firepit! Just a short drive to Canopy Ridge Ziplining, Lake Lure Village and Chimney Rock. Small kiddie park in Chimney Rock with a carousel. Pontoon boat rentals and a waterpark for kids available in Lake Lure Village.
