I'm a publisher Monday-Friday and a fell-runner and climber for the main part of the week. I live in the Lake District and work in London, which seems like a sensible decision about 51% of the time.
Piers purchased this House in 2017
Why Piers chose Ravenglass
I live in Cumbria, and Ravenglass Main St was my dream location for years. On the beach, in the fells, good food and drink, Roman ruins, and a steam-train into Eskdale -- it's the best of the Lake District, but only attracts a fraction of the visitors you'll find in Keswick or Ambleside.
What makes this House unique
Sitting in the back garden at high tide with the sun glinting off the water, the dunes shining yellow and green beyond and the roar of the breakers in the distance...

Superb house great paition
Had a fantastic 4 nights here celebrating my birthday. The house is very tastefully decorated, comfortable and has superb views of the estuary. Shame we didn’t have the best weather but didn’t dampen our spirits. Everything I expected and more.
Loveliest cottage, great location, great attractions and restaurants nearby. Our stay was perfect!
Arrived to discover a picture perfect, rehabbed cottage full of period appointments and antiques. We gladly watched the tide come in and out for 4 days. So much to see and do all within 1 hour. Would absolutely recommend for a family or 2 couples to enjoy and discover all that this corner of the world has to offer.
The location of the cottage in Ravenglass was excellent overlooking the estuary. The sunsets were amazing. The cottage was very comfortable with a lovely big kitchen and master bedroom that had the stunning views. We were here to fell walk and the close proximity to Wasdale Head made this a fabulous location to stay.
Super coastal cottage with the wow factor. ..
We loved this cottage as soon as we opened the front door It was deceptively spacious , light and airy and very clean. The decor was modern with comfortable seating and cosy furnishings.. The kitchen was large and very well equipped with the added bonus of underfloor heating and the most amazing view.! All appliances in the cottage were easy to work which is important on a short break. Upstairs was equally impressive with very comfortable beds and good quality bedding lovely accessories and the wow factor of the coastal view from the lovely bay window.. Unfortunately we weren't blessed with good weather so could not use the patio/furniture. .despite the unseasonably weather the cottage was cosy and warm and totally delightful and would love to revisit in the future.
Lovely cottage in a great location
The cottage was a great place to stay and well equipped. The view was lovely and there was lots to do without getting in a car.
Peaceful comfortable location
Very clean. Well equipped. Great to come back to after a long day on the fells. Loved the estuary view. Wished we could have stayed longer.
