Worst possible experience.
About a week before traveling, we booked a month-long stay in this home. My family had been traveling all over the world for seven months at the time and had stayed in a variety of situations. This was BY FAR the worst experience we've had.
When we arrived, the home was very dirty, the mosquito nets were ripped, the windows would not close and the cockroach problem was so bad we found them throughout the kitchen. I even found one that had crawled into my daughter's breakfast bowl right after I poured it. (Let's not even talk about the pool situation.)
We reached out to the owner, who lives abroad, and at first she was responsive. We were patient, staying for five days to help work out the problems. ln that time, very little was resolved. When we decided to leave (due to health and safety concerns -- in a malaria/dengue endemic area you need to be able to shut the windows and sleep under a unripped net), we asked if she would refund half of our reservation fee. We thought that would be fair, given that we stayed five days out of a 34-day booking. Caroline refused and then, when we sent her photos of the problems, she denied that they were her home. We ended up having to dispute charge with our credit card company. After all the problems, I searched for this house and it popped up on several other booksing sites with similar bad reviews. The owner disputed/denied those as well. Do your research before booking! We MOVED TO A DIFFERENT HOUSE IN THE AREA. We paid LESS than this stay, stayed significantly closer to the beach, and had an absolutely lovely time in Diani.
In Response to the review it should be noted that all facilities advertised by Kenda villa were available and used by and her family through out their stay. Nothing advertised was absent.we have been very responsive to their needs and have spoken to the guests extensively dealing with their issues. We had visitors since before Christmas up to Betsy came and have had no adverse complaints, reviews and views etc. we have had large groups and they have not complained about all the things Betsy complained about. We have not had cockroach problem and none of our guests have ever complained of this.
Kenda villa prides itself in its level of cleanliness. The villa has 2 house keepers who prior to the arrival of the group provided a through clean of the villa and are required to clean the villa every day. The mosquito nets are not ripped betsty complained that the net had big holes which is not the case but we gave her a new net yet that was not satisfactory. . we also gave the property to Betsy at a very reduced rate. Kenda villa actively encourages visitors to make known any problems that they may encounter with their stay at the time they encounter them. It is of great concern that they decided to cancel their booking and subsequent request for refund as everything stated in the listing was there. Kenda villa provides the facilities, service and experience advertised. The Villa is open to constructive queries that will enable it to continuously improve its offer.In this case the villa feels it provided all the facilities and services advertised..
