Our group of 5 couples used Palazzo Rosadi for our recent week in Tuscany. Difficult to add more glowing words about this property than have already been posted on this website. If you have a fairly large group of people traveling together, this villa is an excellent choice. The owner, Rosadi and his parents could NOT have been more gracious and helpful during our stay at this historic villa. The location is out in the beautiful Tuscan countryside near the Umbrian border. The charming village of Monterchi is only 5-7 minutes away, where you will find a small supermarket that has everything you might need for your stay at the villa. The kitchen is equipped nicely with everything you need to prepare lovely dinners.
We spent one day in Florence and found taking the train from Arrezo (20 minutes away from the villa) to Florence (Firenze)was an excellent alternative to driving, since parking and driving in Florence is extremely difficult. The 30 minute trip was very relaxing and delivers you to the Santa Maria Novella station, a 5-10 minute walk to the historic section. A vehicle is a must if you are staying at this villa. If Mr. Rosado offers to take you on a visit to a nearby Monastery outside of Sansepulcro,do it. This small mountain-top place has been there since 1132 A.D. and was frequented by St. Francis of Assisi during his travels. Our group felt it was one of the highlights of the 2 weeks we were in Italy. Also, pay heed to Mr. Rosadi's recommendation for local restaurants... he even called and made reservations at La Pieve Vecchio, outside Monterchi, where we dined at on two occasions. Also, travel the short trip to Anghiari and dine at Da Alghiero, another worthwhile recommendation by Mr. Rosadi. The owners, Gianni and Sylvia will treat you like family, once they find out you know Rosadi.
Overall, Palazzo Rosadi exceeded our expectations on many levels. First time in Tuscany and Italy, but do hope it won't be our last......
