Why Gary Mulholland and Gary Freiberg chose Morro Bay
Living by the ocean has a subtle influence that translates to attitude in welcoming our guests. Morro Bay and the Central Coast is a beautiful place to live, there is a communal pride, an interaction that if you nod to a local you'll get a smile back. People are friendly, our environment is slower paced than LA or San Francisco. There's no freeway jams, no difficulty finding parking, appreciation of nature is pervasive . We are proud to have enhanced a beautiful Morro Bay Embarcadero property that was in need of remodeling. Keeping the natural appeal to the five buildings was integral to have a combination of authentic architecture with convenience and comfort wanted when enjoying a relaxing vacation. We sincerely welcome and look forward to your contact.
What makes this Studio unique
The unique benefit to this home, and to the complex of Pacific Street Cottages, is the location. Walk down the street a half block and you're in the center of Morro Bay's scenic Embarcadero with fresh fish markets, restaurants, shops, wine tasting, kayak rentals, tours, all set among commercial fishing boats and the natural beauty of the bay and the 582 foot high Morro Bay Rock. Something that is truly unique about this studio are the views. Inside, there are two windows, one in the living area, the other in the dining area, both view the harbor. But step outside and you have an outdoor table with full views of the Embarcadero, the harbor and the Rock. It's okay to have a glass of wine or whatever in this outdoor area. And by views, I mean VIEWS!

Enjoyed the area very much. Beautiful and low key.
Enjoyed the weather and the patio. The vegetation and landscaping was so relaxing and pretty. The view of the “Rock” was so cool. We could walk to town, the harbor, eateries and ICE CREAM. The cottage was fun but small as we expected for 2 adults and 2 teens, but we all slept comfortable. The frig was a good size and all necessities were there. We cooked 3 full meals during our 4 night stay. We would like to stay another time in a bit larger cottage there at Pacific Cottages!
Perfect getaway with an amazing view.
The cottage met all of our needs and exceeded all of our expectations. The location is excellent, with stunning view Morro Rock just outside the front door and with the main shops less than 100 yards away. The property was clean and had everything we needed for a week-long stay. There are markets, restaurants, and a grocery store well within walking distance.
Our 4th Stay
Getting out of LA and back to our Happy Place (Morro Bay) is all to tempting when we have a place like this to stay at. This week was our 4th booking with Pacific Street Cottages and it won't be our last! The location and value cannot be beat. The property owners are so accommodating and easy to communicate with. Our family can't wait to come back ASAP.
A Great Stay
We really enjoyed our first visit to Morro Bay and the Pacific Cottages are a great location near the bay and Embarcadero shops and restaurants. We had a bit of a snafu with a late night check-in and a ‘grumpy’ lock box but Gary made things right for us and made sure we had a great stay. The cottages are clean and nicely equipped so you can comfortably stay in for a meal or two or simply walk down one block to a variety of awesome eateries.
Nice tiny place
For just the two of us it was fine. We mostly showered and slept there. Most of our time was spent exploring the area.
A Morro Bay vacation is about relaxing and enjoying the beauty and activities of the Embarcadero. Pacific Street Cottages is minutes walking distance to kayak and canoe rentals, wine tasting, shopping, a micro brewery and Captain Stew's 45 Minute Bay Cruise, just $10, $5.00 for kids. There's a variety of restaurants serving fresh sea food, Thai, Mexican, Chinese, American. Cafes to sit along the bay front promenade. Everything can be walked to literally in minutes, just a half block away from Pacific Street Cottages!
Live music is at several locations along the Embarcadero. Otter Rock Cafe, walking minutes away, has something every night but Tuesday.
On Saturdays Farmers Market is a few blocks away. From fresh vegetables and fish to crafts, Farmers Market is a fun thing to do on a Saturday afternoon.
With your full kitchen stocked with dishes, silverware and standard kitchen utensils you have the option to cook when you want and still enjoy the beauty around you.
Your residence parking is steps from your door. No street parking.
No driving home if you catch a Happy Hour at one of the many places, or enjoy some live music at night. You'll walk home in minutes.
This studio is quiet yet accessible to the center of the Morro Bay waterfront.
About one mile away is the Morro Bay Golf Couse, a scenic course with wide fairways and glorious views. It's County owned so rates are very reasonable.
A few blocks up is the Bay Theatre, $8.00 admission, and lots of shops, antique stores and restaurants. Easily walkable, but if you did drive there is free street parking and no traffic.
Morro Bay is what has become a rare remnant of the California coast; it's quaint with small businesses, no chain food restaurants and scenic beauty undisturbed by crowds.
