Fly Fish Rivers Ridge Lodge’s 3000 feet of private waters (probably best for beginners to those with mid range skills) with family or friends. For the expert fly fishing group, we’ll help you schedule an expedition to one of Western North Carolina’s beloved fly fishing destinations. There are many within easy driving distance, and we know great local guides.
Does your group crave competition? Because of its proximity to Pisgah National Forest, the area features ambitious races of all types, most notably those bordering on the crazy or zany...think Black Mountain Marathon/Mount Mitchell Challenge or Assault on Mount Mitchell.
Is golf the game of choice? Western NC is a golfer’s paradise offering a wide variety of well known courses.
Weather not conducive to fishing or golf? Home to 11 craft breweries, Asheville boasts about 50 local beers. Asheville has more breweries per capita than any other US city! Wine vineyards have thrived in Western NC because of the area’s excellent conditions for growing grapes at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are six excellent wineries just east of Rivers Ridge Lodge and the vineyards and winery on The Biltmore Estate in Asheville.
Did you know that Western NC has a rich Revolutionary and Civil War history? Reenactments are celebrated and many sites are commonly visited. There are famous literary personalities with museums and memorials in the area...Fred Chappell, Gail Godwin, O. Henry, Carl Sandburg, Thomas Wolfe. Whatever the focus, we’ll help you create an exciting getaway.

Beautiful property! The giant deck overlooking the river and the fire pit down by the river were definitely the best parts. The sleeping situations are interesting, some people will get the unbelievable masters suite while other people will get stuck out in bunk houses or in a loft so just keep that in mind. If you have people that don’t mind where they sleep you will be good!
The masters suite is the nicest room I have ever stayed in. It has two separate bathrooms, one with a stand alone tub and the other with a steam shower!
Best Cabin Vacation Ever!!!
My stay at the Lodge was unbelievable. The property is surrounded by water, has full amenities, and is about a 30 minute drive to downtown Asheville. Lana was an excellent, accommodating, and responsive host. The amount of sleeping spaces is quite impressive. I highly recommend even as a family getaway or small, casual wedding venue. It was truly a beautiful home and a peaceful piece of property. I could no say enough about how wonderful our stay was. We will absolutely stay again, but next time we will remember our towels!!!
Thanks for everything Lana, what a special place. -The Khare's
This house was perfect! We had a group of 20 people and the house and surrounding property was large enough for everyone. I would highly recommend this house to any large groups.
Thank you so much for your review! We are so happy to know that your group had a great time. We will look forward to hosting you again!
We rented this home for my husband's birthday with several friends and had the best time! Lana was so helpful from the start and they were there to greet us and show us around and answered all of our questions. They had fresh fruit and snacks in the kitchen and fresh flowers in every bathroom. The house and the lot were unbelievable and we could have spent so much longer there. We definitely want to rent again!
Thank you so much for your review! I'm so glad the birthday weekend was a success! Was it the birthday boy who took a dip in the river one morning?? I would have liked to see THAT! Brrrrr .... brave, brave man!
We will certainly be looking forward to having your group as our guests again.
Thanks so much!
The perfect place for a family gathering in the mountains.
This mountain lodge was the perfect setting for hosting our family Christmas celebration. There was plenty of room to fit all 29 of us for 3 nights comfortably. The home layout encouraged intimate gatherings & conversations around the kitchen, TV, fireplace, game room, on the deck watching the stream and even around the fire pit for those brave enough to stand the cold. The open floor plan also allowed our entire group to mingle & enjoy meals together. The location is secluded but not that far from all of the local attractions that Asheville has to offer. I recommend visiting the town of Black Mountain for the quaint shops and eateries. If you rent this place and do not enjoy yourself, it will most likely be due to the company you keep. This place will definitely be in our sights for another visit in the near future.
We spent New Year’s Eve at this beautiful cabin. It is spacious, well appointed, has beautiful views and the property manager Lana is simply wonderful. This is the perfect place to spend time with a large group of family and friends. We plan to book again to experience summer in this amazing setting. Everything- from the welcome bowl filled with fruit and snacks, Christmas decorations throughout, wood for the fire pit down by the river, rooms galore, phenomenal master suites, a big beautiful well utensiled kitchen, fun game room, comfortable beds, gorgeous property- it’s a great place! Enjoy!!!
Thank you so much for your review! I am so happy your vacation went well. I know you enjoyed the snow!
Thank you, also for being such great guests. I will definitely look forward to having you and your family at the Lodge again!
