Peaceful, well equipped family house in beautiful part of Spain

After taking a few years away from the rental market this lovely, tranquil home in south west Spain is back for rent from September 2018. You will notice some of the reviews provided are taken from the house's old guest book, although 2019 guests have now provided some lovely positive reviews too.

Set on 1.5 acres of secluded mature gardens, this rural rustic family house is ideal for families or couples wanting to escape and enjoy a fantastic part of Andalusia. Placed in the small hamlet of Najara, Casa Sylvia is an attractive rustic house with bags of charm.

This part of Spain is very unspoilt, with rich history and tradition, and due to the amazing Atlantic climate and stunning beaches, it is where many Spanish people come for their own summer holidays.

The owners have furnished the house well for comfortable family living and is very well equipped. It is well provided for guests with children - a cot and a high chair are available. The newly refurbished pool is set within a large patio near to the house; there are ample loungers, tables and chairs as well as a BBQ for outdoor living. Outside the mature gardens are well tended by local couple Diego and Milagros, who can provide you with seasonal produce from the grounds.

The house is situated 10 mins from the stunning hilltop fortress town, Vejer de la Frontera with restaurants, bars, shops and other amenities. Many beaches are easily accessible, including 20 mins to El Palmar beach. Other beautiful beaches nearby include Caños, Conil de la,Frontera, La Barrosa, Cape Trafalgar, Zahora.

The house has a guest information book, including a wealth of knowledge about the local area, supermarkets, restaurants, beaches, amenities, emergency contacts, etc.

Winter break

Casa. Sylvia was exactly as the photos and was lovely and secluded, it has a huge secure garden and we could help ourselves to the fruit on the trees, which we all enjoyed. the house is very well equipped and has retained a lovely comfortable rustic feel. It was a bit unfortunate for us that this winter has been the wettest for a long time but we still managed to have days out and sit out on the terrace, all in all a very relaxing stay

Lovely house and garden

This is one of the best houses that we have rented in the past years. The house is beautiful and very comfortable, spacious and with all facilities, and the garden, barbecue and pool are great. The location is also very good, close to many areas and towns of interest. Special thanks to Diego and his wife for coming by and keeping the garden and orchard in shape, and for sharing in-house-grown vegetables and fruits with us. We absolutely recommend this place to anyone willing to visit the area, and we would love to come back.

We really enjoyed casa Sylvia. The layout of the house, the gardens, the location ... everything in one word "great". Diego as caretaker of the house and gardens was a great support. He continued to make sure that everything was to our liking. Oranges, mandarins, grapefruit .... the trees were full and we were allowed to pick what we wanted. We will definitely come back here in warmer periods.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful property

We had the most amazing stay in this beautiful villa. Jane was a great host and Diego the gardener was so friendly and welcoming, showing us the garden and giving us freshly picked fruit and veg. We hardly saw him but it was lovely when we did. The villa is beautiful with everything you need, the gardens are so peaceful to relax in with just the sounds of the countryside and the pool is a great size and although it was only April we were in it lots everyday. Although remote it is only 20min to the wonderful old town of Vejer with lots of restaurants, shops ans supermarkets and stunning beaches with restaurants just a bit further. There is a tiny shop 5min drive away in Cantarranas which sells most things and further supermarkets in Benalup. A great base to explore the area - we only wish we had been able to stay longer to explore more as well as have lazy days enjoying the villa. We’ve already recommended it to loads of friends and hope to stay again.

Familienurlaub

Wir (2 Familien à 4 Personen) haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Tolles Haus mit ausreichend Platz für 8 Personen mit allem was man braucht. Es hat an nichts gefehlt. Superschöner und gepflegter Garten mit großartigem Pool. Toller, einfacher und schneller Kontakt mit dem Gastgeber. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Weihnachten in Casa Sylvia

Wir haben Weihnachten und Silvester in Casa Sylvia verbracht und hatten eine schöne Zeit. Alles war wie beschrieben und das Highlight war auch für uns die kleine Plantage. Soviel frischen Orangensaft mit Grapefruit haben wir wohl noch nie getrunken. Das Grundstück ist wirklich großzügig und unsere Kinder konnten das ganze Arial zum Spielen nutzen. Gerne hätten wir auch den Pool genutzt, aber es ist verständlich, dass dieser im Winter geschlossen ist. Diego müssen wir unbedingt auch positiv erwähnen. Wir mussten die ganze Zeit heizen und er hat uns unermüdlich Holz und Anzündmaterial herbei geschafft und war auch gerne mal für einen kleinen Plausch zu haben (so gut es eben mit nur kleinen Spanischkenntnissen unsererseits geht). Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt!

Schönes Haus mit tollem Poom

Wir haben die Zeit in Janes Haus sehr genossen. Es ist alles vorhanden was man braucht, schöne Zinmer mit guten Betten. Der Pool ist das absolute Highlight!

Hidden paradise / Ein Paradies!

Wunderbar rustikales Haus mit viel Platz für die Familie, gute Betten, gute Ausstattung, traumhafter riesiger Garten und top gepflegter sehr großer Pool. 3 Terassen, toller Grill, Dach begehbar. Sehr ruhig in der Natur gelegen, das Pferdeschnauben, der nächtliche Uhu und der morgendliche Hahn untermalen das aufs schönste. Die Lage ist ideal für Touren und einen schnellen Dip ins Meer, die nächsten Strände sind allesamt extrem toll, mit schönen Strandbars und weißem Sand. Diego ist ein wahnsinnig freundlicher, hilfsbereiter Mensch und Jane stand per Mail jederzeit zur Verfügung. Wir waren hier sehr glücklich, vielen Dank! Matthias, Barbara, Charlotte, Maximilian.

Mooi verblijf in de streek

Mooie regio met veel activiteiten. Huisje is goed geequipeerd, alles is aanwezig en proper. Mooie zitplaatsen, mooie tuin en fantastisch zwembad. Ventilators aanwezig, maar geen airco. Lekkere vruchten in de tuin en rustige omgeving. Mooie stranden in de buurt met de auto te bezoeken en in Tarifa dolfijntocht en walvissen gespot. Topreis voor onze kinderen.

Quelques jours dans un petit coin de paradis

Maison et jardin incroyable, avec des orangers, des citronniers, des oliviers, des cactus, ... Toute la famille, adultes comme enfants/adolescents ont appréciés l'aménagement et le confort du gite et sa grande piscine. Diego le gardien est là pour répondre à nos besoins. C'est idéal pour se reposer et aller se promener dans les différentes villes et endroits de cette partie de l'Andalousie. Nous espérons pouvoir y revenir dans le futur.

vacaciones semana santa

El jardín y el huerco que rodean la propiedad son una maravilla, hay un olor a azahar y a flores que es muy agradable. La zona de piscina es super. La casa esta bien, sobre todo la cocina y el salón, buen lugar de encuentro. La carretera para acceder un poco descuidada, hay poca cobertura y el gps, a veces, se perdía. Pero a unos 10-12km de los pueblos y playas más interesantes

A perfect holiday home in an amazing location

Casa Sylvia is the most perfect holiday home for a peaceful, relaxing getaway. Beautiful gardens, a perfect pool and a really homey feel to the whole place. Super close to Vejer and really easy to get to other places such as Cadiz and Seville. Brilliant communication from start to finish and such an amazing helpful house and area guide in the house, we read it everyday and it helped us plan our weeks out. Everything was perfect!

Wunderschönes Haus mit allem was man für einen perfekten Urlaub braucht !

Wir waren 10 Tage im Casa Sylvia und haben den Aufenthalt dort sehr genossen. Das Haus ist mehr als ausreichend ausgestattet und die Lage perfekt. Zum Meer sind es ca 20 Min, nach Cádiz 1 Std, Vejer 15 Min. Highlight ist definitiv der große Pool. Für uns was es der beste Urlaub mit der richtigen Mischung aus Ruhe und Entspannung im Haus und Action am Meer. Oropax sollte man aber unbedingt mitbringen, die Hähne und Hunde in der Nachbarschaft sind die ganze Nacht aktiv.

Tranquilidad en estado puro

He disfruta 9 días de este alojamiento y la verdad es que hemos estado super a gusto. Relax total. A penas a 20 minutos de Vejer y a unos 30 del Palmar. Diego muy atento y servicial. Muchas gracias!!

Casa muy recomendable

Es la segunda vez que venimos a esta casa y nos sigue pareciendo fantástica. Está bien equipada, es tranquila, tiene todo lo necesario y es amplia para acoger a bastantes personas. El jardín lleno de plantas, flores, árboles frutales y hasta un huerto y la piscina lo hacen totalmente recomendable.

Una casa muy tranquila

Nos alojamos en esta casa en diciembre y hemos pasado muy buenos días. Bastante espaciosa y con mucho jardín. Nos encantaría repetir en verano para poder disfrutar de la piscina.

Wundervoll

Everything was really perfect for us and we enjoyed the time that we spent at this lovely place. The garden is amazing and really lovely behaved from Diego and Milagros. He came every early morning to clean the pool and look after the garden areas. Many thanks to them for looking after us and the lots of fresh vegetables that we received from him out of the garden. Two very nice persons. The kitchen is very well equipped. The rooms and beds are in a good condition. A car is necessary. Peaceful place to relax and leave the trouble of the city behind you. We really didn't want to leave... Many thanks to Diego. Muchas gracias y queremos volver si podemos.

Una casa preciosa!

En pocas palabras: La casa (con todo lo que conlleva) es preciosa! Pasamos unas vacaciones de las más bonitas! Todo está muy agradable y muy cuidado, gracias a Diego y Milagros que no sólo son muy majos sino además hacen un trabajo fenomenal. Y una petición/ consejo para Jane: Deja la zona de la entrada / el porche como está (quiero decir: no quites la vid!): Las plantas de vid no sólo son hermosas visualmente, sino que también producen las más deliciosas uvas de Moscatel!

After spending a holiday in 1997 in Andalucia, we fell in love with this part of Spain. When purchased in 1999, the property was a mere shack and garden full of cacti. It has since been lovingly transformed into a family home from home. Many amazing and memorable holidays have been had at the house and we fail to see how anyone could not enjoy themselves here.
