About the property

Unique Waterfront Property, Sea In Front , Harbor/protected private dock in back

A boat -rental or your own, is required in order to get to our truly unique property, located on Guana Cay in the Abaco Islands, which are lesser known, uncommercialized islands of the Bahamas. Our home is located on the water, with the Sea of Abaco in front and Susan's Cove (harbour) in the back. We have lots of huge windows and there are water views from every window in the home!

If you think there's a better rental, go-for-it ! But before you do... Please watch..

A boat is REQUIRED as we are located on a small peninsula, nearly surrounded by water and access to the house is only by boat. Boat rentals are available from any one of the many rental companies on Marsh Harbor, where the airport is located, or on Guana Cay.

The home is very comfortably furnished with every amenity you may need for a perfect getaway. There are vaulted ceilings and fans in every room with central AC (quiet!). There is a great room/kitchen that is very open. The master bedroom has a king size bed and its own private bath. The other two bedrooms share a bath; one has a queen size bed and the other has a bunk bed with a twin and double.

There is a wrap around deck with tables set up on both the Sea and Harbor sides for outdoor dining. A 100' private dock provides one of the most protected docks for your rental boat (lots of places to rent from in the area). Out front on the Sea of Abaco is a swim platform for enjoying the azure blue waters.

The Abaco Islands were originally settled back in the 1700's by Loyalists from America. The area is not heavily developed with big resorts, but mostly populated with private homes that run the gammut from smaller and quaint to huge and luxurious. The Abacos are approximately a 1 hour flight from south Florida. The locals are fun and friendly.

There are few cars, and most travel is done by boat. There's lots of stunning tropical vegetation and, of course, that amazing blue water. The clarity of the water defies description, and often we can see dolphin and fish in the water right from our deck. The snorkeling and diving are some of the best in the world, and you can expect to see a multitude of beautiful fish and sealife, including turtles and rays, The waters in the area are very easy to navigate, and you can enjoy skipping from our island to other islands in the Abacos, as they are a short distance away. There are some fun shops to explore on the main island of Marsh Harbor, as well.

Our location is quiet, peaceful, and private, but there are some great informal beach-front restaurants and bars nearby. The are a number of underwater preserves in the Abacos, which provide beautiful snorkeling and underwater picture taking opportunities. In addition, there are a multitude of locations nearby for diving, fishing (line or spear), lobstering, and beachcombing. Stunning beaches are a short boat ride or walk away. Ours is a great location, whether you are looking for activity or simply want to relax and enjoy the sun, water, and views. Click on the Video link above !!!!

The house is elevated providing great views and cooling breezes. Due to the elevation of the house and design of the deck railings, the house is not appropriate for very young children, but older children would be fine.

About Bill Woodall

After extensive travel in the Bahamas, Central America and the Caribbean we found ourselves repeatedly coming back to Abaco and especially Guana. Seasongs was completed in the spring of 2008.

Bill Woodall purchased this house in 2008

Why Bill Woodall chose Abaco Islands

Guana's beaches are considered (Fodor's! )the best beaches in the Bahamas. White powdery sand beaches, deserted islands for picnics and beach combing where you may only see your foot prints in the sand.

Our son is a Dive Master/Boat Captain (own boat) in the Florida Keys and when he wants some great fishing, he comes to the Abacos !

Running the entire length of Guana Cay is the 3rd largest barrier reef in the world, with unparalleled diving and snorkeling. Beyond the reef the depth drops hundreds of feet to provide a fantastic deep sea fishing experience. Hire a local guide or explore on your own.

What makes this house unique

A very private, secluded modern home with stunning sunsets
