Situated on the outskirts of a quaint harbour town, Burry Port, on the Loughor estuary this holiday property is only 5 miles west of Llanelli and 17 miles from the City of Swansea. Burry Port is the town where Amelia Earhart landed, becoming the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. This large detached cottage has been lovingly converted a very good standard providing guests with an unforgettable holiday experience in beautiful Carmarthenshire. Conveniently located close to the spectacular Millennium Coastal Path, guests can explore the scenic Pembrey Country Park with eight miles of golden sands at Cefn Sidan, Pembrey must be the only place in Europe where visitors can sunbathe, swim and hunt for shipwrecks on the beaches, then experience the thrill of a toboggan run or race down the parks 130m dry ski slope. Enjoy a round of golf at the famous Jack Nicklaus course, Llanelli, or the Ashburnam links course, Pembrey. Watch live sport at the Llanelli Scarlet’s Rugby Stadium and nearby Ffos Las Racecourse. Or just wind down and relax in the 7 seat hot tub. A short drive inland brings guests to the counties rolling countryside which is scattered with charming market towns including Llandeilo and Carmarthen as well as numerous medieval sites dotted around such as the historic castles of Kidwelly, Carreg Cennen and the 12th century castle of Dinefwr, nestled amongst a tranquil 800-acre park with wild fallow deer running free. Family break

Difficult to find, local taxi from local train station couldn't find house, I called owner and he gave directions so all was good. House was nice and big enough for our Family, very comfy beds, we all slept well. Sadly though, the gas on the barbeque ran out before the food was cooked and only half of the out door/garden lights worked. But over all we are happy, a great base for us to visit family in Gower and Swansea.

Really lovely cottage.

Really lovely cottage. Needs a little TLC. The outside garden umbrella was damaged and theres no sun loungers. Needs large saucepans and cooking pots replacing and the lounge sofas are a little tired but really clean and spacious.

Great cottage with plenty of room for our family.

Great cottage with plenty of room for our family. Hot tub was excellent as was the games room (could do with new dart board as its a bit battered around the 20 with all fluff). Kitchen nice size and stocked well with equipment. Welcome box was a nice touch. Location great too. One to return to for us in the future.

Ysgubor Wen did not disappoint...space for 3 generations to enjoy We all loved the hot tub and the games room The house is well placed to visit the local attractions and the beach a walkable distance The welcome pack was a lovely touch ......I do feel that the main room would benefit from an extra sofa Would not hesitate to visit again

We had a really comfortable stay with our family group of 9.

We had a really comfortable stay with our family group of 9. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and games room. We used the woodburner and oven. There was plenty to do in the surrounding area. We would recommend to others. (New set of darts needed and we couldn't get the grill to work, but everything else spot on.)

The house was well equipped and, even though it was on quite a busy street, was very quiet inside. We loved the local beaches especially Pembrey Country Park with the shipwrecks.
