Amazing quiet location!

We lived this cottage its location was key for us as my husband grew up in East Calder and we could enjoy many of his childhood memories on this trip!

perfect calm resting stay

It is located in a very nice area, perfect for a quiet getaway time. The host is super nice, communicate very well. We had an excellent stay with no problems.

Beautiful home

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Everything you need is there. Denise and Mike are a lovely couple! Only 15 mins from Edinburgh too. Can’t fault anything with the property or it’s owners. Definitely 5⭐️

Amazing cottage!Met on arrival by the friendly and helpful owner, guided us around and showed us how things worked.The cottage is much bigger than it looks in the photos, lovely airy rooms, spotlessly clean, everything that you could need.The welcome basket was a nice touch.Only things that we would say need improving are; the Wi-Fi was very slow, the shower pressure was low, and memory foam mattresses are not everyones taste.

Eilean Donan provides all the facilities you need to feel at home and is a good base for exploring the South East of Scotland. Park and Ride Bus and Tram links to Edinburgh and Livingston Designer Outlet are only a short drive away. We will definitely be going back!

Lovely cottage in the grounds of the owners property. The property was spotlessly clean and we couldn't find fault with anything. The owners were very helpful and the welcome basket was a nice touch. If we revisit the area we will definitely book again.

We had an excellent weeks holiday at this very spacious bungalow.

We had an excellent weeks holiday at this very spacious bungalow. We were met by the owners on arrival, who were very welcoming and informative. The bungalow is perfectly positioned for getting into Edinburgh, with a very good Park and Ride just a few miles away and also for visiting the local areas. We have stayed in several very nice self-catering holiday homes in recent years but this property was the most well equipped and cleanest by far. All that you could wish for and more. We will definitely recommend to friends and hope to return ourselves in the future.

Heerlijk ruim huis met veel privacy.

Huis naast huis van de eigenaar maar die komen alleen even kennis maken. Je hebt veel privacy. Huis was heel ruim. Goede locatie om Edinburgh en kastelen te bezoeken. Ook Glasgow is goed te doen.

The cottage was excellent - cosy, comfortable and very well appointed.

The cottage was excellent - cosy, comfortable and very well appointed. It was very quiet despite being near the A71 and had everything you could need. I would certainly return.

We had a really comfortable stay at the cottage.

We had a really comfortable stay at the cottage. The beds were excellent and the kitchen was well equipped. It's brilliant to have a walk in shower, too. There was a small Tesco Express close by in the centre of East Calder and a huge shopping centre at Livingston with a massive Asda and big Morrisons. It was easy to find the Park and Ride at Hermiston a 15 minute drive away from the cottage and it only took half an hour to get to the centre of Edinburgh. The bus service there was brilliant and we used an all day travel ticket to take us across town visiting the mumerous attractions. We also enjoyed exploring the castles at Linlithgow, Blackness and Stirling. There is plehty to eee and do. You won't be bored.

A delightful property, very well equipped and well cared for by the owners. We had everything we needed. Within reach of Edinburgh as park and ride is close by, but there are also other attractions within 30 minutes drive. We would definitely recommend this property.

We had a great week at Eilean Donan.

We had a great week at Eilean Donan. We were met by Mike on arrival & received a great welcome. Mike explained everything to us & was always there if you wanted to know anything. The welcome basket was a nice extra. The cottage is very well located for exploring the area & if we visit the area again we will definitely use this cottage again. It was spotless & had everything you could possibly want.
