Rodeada por 200 acres de zonas verdes, esta encantadora cabaña es ideal para explorar el país fronterizo. Planta baja: salón / comedor / cocina. WC separado. Primera planta: 2 habitaciones: 1 doble (cuatro carteles), 1 doble. Cuarto de baño con ducha en el baño y aseo.. TV de TDT. Lavadora. Wifi. Estacionamiento. No Fumar.. Los 200 acres de gloriosos parques que rodean Mellerstain House, una de las casas señoriales más grandiosas de Escocia, diseñada y construida por William y Robert Adam, brindan un entorno maravilloso para estas dos encantadoras cabañas (S4568 y S4569). Los visitantes pueden recorrer los terrenos, incluidos los fabulosos jardines en terrazas de estilo italiano que ofrecen vistas panorámicas sobre el lago hasta las distantes Cheviot Hills. Las atracciones escénicas e históricas del país fronterizo están muy cerca y las playas de Berwick y Holy Island también son fácilmente accesibles. We spent a fortnight in Clockhouse Cottage at the end of October and loved every minute of it.

We spent a fortnight in Clockhouse Cottage at the end of October and loved every minute of it. Mellerstain House was closed for the winter so we had the grounds more or less to ourselves which was a real treat - the grounds are open to the public during the winter but we only saw a couple of visitors while we were there. We felt very much at home and were very sad to leave it. We will definitely consider booking again if we come back to this area for a holiday.The cottage is warm and cosy, and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. The staff we encountered were very approachable and helpful.In open season the grounds will of course be busier during the day but I don’t think this would have detracted from our enjoyment of the cottage. Closed season does offer something a little different though, driving into the grounds past Mellerstain House and having the place to yourself really feels a wee bit special, so we’d definitely recommend the cottage if you’re looking for an out of season retreat.We’ve stayed in, and enjoyed, quite a few holiday cottages over the years and this has definitely been our favourite to date.

Beautiful gardens

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and loved walking around the amazing gardens and wooded areas. The location is excellent being close to many Borders towns. The property was clean apart from the oven which needs a good clean and the pot shelves which were greasy. There was no frying pan large or small so we were unable to cook the steaks we brought with us. There was no welcome letter and no-one called by or phoned to welcome us or check that we had everything we needed. Neither were we provided with a telephone number for the property manager. Despite the lack of customer care we still had a lovely break and the staff in the coffee shop and the gardens were all very friendly.

What an absolutely incredible place to stay - so quiet, peaceful and the gardens to which I was allowed access, were truly magnificent! A sincere thank you to the owners/residents of Mellerstain House, for giving me, as a guest, the privilege of being able to do this even when closed! 10/10⭐️

A very warm, quiet, comfortable cottage.

A very warm, quiet, comfortable cottage. Access to the grounds at Mellerstain is a real treat, and makes the cottage special. The area is full of things to do, great walks, lovely country, lots of history. I would happily go again. The wifi works very well (not always the case in holiday rentals) but there is no mobile signal. The kitchen equipment is functional but if you are a keen cook take your 'must haves' with you. The visit of Mellerstain House is a must, superb architecture, wonderful furniture, works of art, museum pieces and very friendly, informative guides who obviously love their jobs. Last but not least, a superb garden with spectacular views on the Cheviots.

Mellerstain is a magnificent house in a beautiful location with lovely gardens to which we had free access during our stay. The Clock House was a very well presented and comfortable cottage looking onto the courtyard, cafe and gift shop (which were only open when the gardens were). The dogs were very welcome too and loved their walks around the grounds.

I absolutely loved Clock House and will definitely stay there again. The house itself is very homely, comfortable and well equipped. Sitting in the grounds of Mellerstain House, which itself is stunning, just adds to the overall experience.

Some small issues dealt with quickly and efficiently. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. I don’t expect these small issues to happen again. We will be booking this cottage again. The walks round the estate are lovely and the whole place is dog friendly.
