Faultless! The Little House is an absolute gem. It is by far the most comfortable, best equipped self catering place we have ever stayed in. Great location for lovely local walks or for exploring further afield. The owners - and their lovely dog - made us feel very welcome, the cream tea on arrival was a lovely, thoughtful touch.

Wonderful views from The Little House.
Wonderful views from The Little House. Very friendly owners and very friendly place to stay. The streets are very narrow for driving so its very much a Cornish village & a bit hilly too.

We have just returned from a wonderful week in the Little House.
We have just returned from a wonderful week in the Little House. The house is very well appointed, very comfortable and clean - the owners were extremely friendly and helpful.
The house has a beautiful view over the top of the village school to the river and woods on the opposite bank of the Tamar. In front of the house is a large paved area so the whole aspect is spacious and airy. The kitchen and living room are furnished well and the bedroom particularly so with a day bed and chaise longe for afternoon novel reading! There is a steep path up to the house from the village but this got easier after the first few times.
The pubs in the village had good beer and food options plus an ice cream parlour/tea room which was open in the middle of the day. We used the bus and train to get around whenever possible, making trips to Tavistock and Bere Alston. The walk to Cotehele House was uphill but fairly easy and there were many more good walks in the area. We hope to be back soon to finish all the walks!

The cottage was very good but we found it difficult to get meal in local pubs unless we booked in advance and the whole point of choosing the location was that we didn't always know where our walks would take us. Also mobile phone coverage in the area was poor and neither of our phones got any signal.
The village pub was very good but having a dog with us meant that we had to sit outside which was a problem when it rained (which items quite frequently).
The owners were very helpful and it was lovely to get away for a few days.

We had fabulous week in the little house. We were lucky with the weather and we fully utilized the outdoor terrace.
The location caused a few issues with internet access but we got used to that. Very welcoming hosts. Would use again.

Stayed at the Little House for a week in November.
Stayed at the Little House for a week in November. The weather wasn't very good but the house was perfect. It had everything you could want and was very comfortable and warm. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Little House and pay a visit to the Tamar Inn where you will find good food. I would recommend contacting the owners in advance to get some better directions to the property as the ones supplied can be misleading.

Comfortable and warm for an autumn break.
Comfortable and warm for an autumn break. Very quiet despite the occasional train going past behind the cottage. The drawbacks are no wifi or mobile signal but this might be a positive for some people. No shop in the village but two good pubs. The directions on the website are up the creek...for right read left! Many good walks from the house but all end with a final slog up the hill.

A lovely stay at a very picturesque cottage! The owners were very welcoming and our cream tea on arrival was great! The directions to the house I think should be reviewed but that’s a very minor negative! The surrounding area was beautiful and lots to do short car drives away. We would definitely recommend and come again!

The property has everything needed although the shower room could be slightly bigger and would have been better on the first floor.
There are lots of good walks in the area which makes it a good choice if you have a dog.

The Little House was perfect for our holiday.
The Little House was perfect for our holiday. It was small but adequate with modern, clean fixtures and fittings. The bedroom was amazing. It is situated at the top of a fairly steep hill but not far from the centre of the village. Being at the top of the hill meant there were lovely views across the valley and river. Calstock is a lovely village and probably the most tranquil holiday experience we have ever had! There's a great pub in the village and lovely walks along the riverside. The surrounding area is beautiful. As dog owners we couldn't recommend a better place to holiday -spoilt for choice with woods, rivers and hills. We shall be back!
