They are tucked away in a quiet corner of the quaint little village of Moorlinch, which has a popular pub, a 13th-century church and easy access to many local attractions and scenic walks. The cottages have been renovated to a very good standard. Townsend Pod (ref UKC1911), formerly the cow shed, is a detached, single-storey contemporary barn conversion boasting a wood burner, so you can cosy up on those winter evenings. The open plan living/dining/kitchen is very light and spacious, with full length windows, and the bedroom has fitted wardrobes. Townsend Pod also has a separate seating area at the front, next to the shared entrance path. The Stable (ref UKC3708) is set over two floors and offers a cosy and more traditional style retreat, with some lovely features such as an electric wood burner and open views from the large window in the first floor bedroom. The cottages are located around the corner from the popular local pub which serves food, and close to some excellent walking areas. The properties make an ideal base from which to explore nearby Glastonbury, with its abbey and tor, the site of the battle of Sedgemoor, the city of Wells, with its magnificent cathedral and Bishops Palace, and the World Heritage city of Bath, with its Georgian architecture, great shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. It was so comfortable, clean, light & airy and well equipped. It was great for both relaxing in and as a base for going out exploring as The Pod is in such a beautiful part of the country.

A Gateway to Levels Wildlife.

The 'Pod' was ideally situated for exploring The Levels and the Bird Reserves on them. It was comfortable, warm, amply furnished and with under cover parking. Excellent!

We had a very comfortable stay in Townsend Pod which was ideally situated to explore the Avalon Mars

We had a very comfortable stay in Townsend Pod which was ideally situated to explore the Avalon Marshes and Ham Wall nature reserves. We managed to get as far as Horner wood, on the edge of Exmoor, which is ancient oak woodland and an example of a temperate rain forest. When the weather turned British we visited National Trust properties of Stour Head and Dunster Castle, both well worth a visit. The Ring O Bells pub, just 2 minutes walk from the Pod, served excellent food; their home-made pies are highly recommended. And GWilliams lawnmower, post office and grocery emporium, just 5 minutes drive away, provided everything else we needed for self catering including a couple of "Cook" meals (Coq au Vin and Lamb Moussaka). If only the weather had held we would have been able to explore Glastonbury Tor!

We stayed in the Townsend Pod for a week at Christmas while visiting family close by.

We stayed in the Townsend Pod for a week at Christmas while visiting family close by. The pod was excellent, decorated to a high standard, very clean and had everything you could want & more including a Christmas Tree and welcome pack. The hosts were very friendly & helpful especially when there was an issue with the smoke alarm battery. The location was great and although we were visiting family it was good for trips to Clarkes Village & Wells. We hope to return again soon - thank-you for a fabulous stay over Christmas 24.
