Situé à seulement 10 km de la plage de Pevensey, cet établissement indépendant se trouve sur le terrain d'un moulin à vent.


Cette belle propriĂ©tĂ© de campagne borde le parc d'un moulin Ă  vent de niveau II *, vieux de 200 ans, qui a donnĂ© son nom au village de Windmill Hill. Le moulin Ă  vent a Ă©tĂ© soigneusement restaurĂ© avec l’aide du Fonds de la loterie du patrimoine, d’autres donateurs et d’une Ă©quipe de bĂ©nĂ©voles dĂ©vouĂ©s. L'usine a une rotonde extïżœïżœrieure unique et est la plus grande post usine du Royaume-Uni. C'est maintenant un moulin Ă  vent en fonctionnement, ouvert au public la plupart des dimanches aprĂšs-midi de PĂąques Ă  octobre. Les clients de la maison peuvent visiter le moulin Ă  d’autres moments sur rendez-vous. L'entrĂ©e est gratuite, mais le Windmill Hill Windmill Trust compte sur les dons pour assurer la maintenance continue de l'usine. Windmill Barn dispose d'un jardin clos pour profiter de l'Ă©tĂ© et d'un parking privĂ©. En hiver, vous pourrez vous installer devant le poĂȘle Ă  bois aprĂšs une marche rapide dans la campagne environnante.
La propriĂ©tĂ© est situĂ©e sur une des terres les plus hautes sur plusieurs kilomĂštres et se situe dans 1066 pays, surplombant la rĂ©serve naturelle nationale de Pevensey Levels, au-delĂ  de laquelle se trouve la Manche. Visitez la ville balnĂ©aire d'Eastbourne, remarquable pour son ensoleillement Ă©levĂ© et dĂ©tenant le record du plus haut ensoleillement enregistrĂ© en un mois. Faites une excursion en bateau et admirez la magnifique cĂŽte de falaise de craie blanche connue sous le nom de Beachy Head et les Seven Sisters. Promenez-vous dans les sentiers naturels du parc national des South Downs, ou visitez le chĂąteau de Pevensey, le centre scientifique Herstmonceux, le petit zoo primĂ© de Drusilla et le bourg de Battle. Le golf et la pĂȘche sont disponibles localement. Plage 6 miles. Boutique, pub et restaurant Ă  300 mĂštres.

Exceptional property with a private patio to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Great to have a private driveway and off road parking. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and we had a wonderful relaxing stay.

Windmill Barn is a great holiday location. The cottage is very well equipped and a novelty to have the lovingly restored Windmill right outside. It is within walking distance of pubs and restaurants and is a fantastic base for exploring the area.

The perfect property for a relaxing break.

The perfect property for a relaxing break. Everything you need is provided. We didnñ€ℱt use the kitchen much preferring to eat out in local pubs. Not having to cook was a treat. The Bulls Head , The Six Bells at Chiddingly and The Smugglers Inn at Pevensey all served great delicious food. Paul gave us a private tour of the windmill which we found very interesting. We enjoyed the log burner and had a thoroughly pleasant stay here . We would recommend this place very highly.

It was a little scary booking a rental as we wanted all the home comforts, all other places just did not pass the very high list of requirements. I am pleased to say The Windmill barn came up trumps, it was cosy and well thought out with the log burner, full kitchen, smart TV, and very comfortable bed. Had everything we needed including good WiFi. Our hosts were excellent and obviously we had to rely on them a lot, with 2 large shops being delivered. Also the only humans we spoke to over the 2 weeks ( obviously social distancing) It was also a bonus with the windmill outside as it gave us something interesting to focus on. Windmill Barn, found and booked at fairly short notice, matched if not exceeded expectations. Quiet location set back from the road. Comfortable, spacious, well-equipped; furnished to a good standard upstairs and down. Effective wi-fi. Good bathroom, very comfortable bed. Appliances - oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer etc - as good as new, easy to operate with manual instructions to fall back on if required. The oven was in such gleaming pristine condition, I was apprehensive of spoiling with a Sunday Roast Chicken! The owners were friendly and welcoming at all times, not that anything arose during our stay to trouble them with. The cottage is well placed for visiting the very many lovely houses, gardens, castles etc in the vicinity, also with the benefit of being close to the coast. As stated in previous reviews the cottage is well equipped with all essentials and there is a safe and secure undercover bike storage area in the garden. We love it. One of the best self catering places to stay. Ok local amenities are not so good but what for? Great indian takeaway not far from Hailsham and supermarkets.
