Stylish traditional apartment in Old Town Modica
This airy apartment has been recently completely renovated with flair. The place is spotlessly clean and full of light. The kitchen is state of the art with everything you might want, including a brand new fridge and dishwasher. We stayed here for a week at the end of January, and once it got going, the heating was very efficient. The little sunlit area just off the terrace was the perfect spot for lingering over coffee in the morning. The mattress on the bed we slept on in the master bedroom was extremely comfortable, as was the walk-in shower with large shower head. Even though they don't live in Modica, Giampiero and Jane were the perfect hosts and saw to our every need and question. The apartment is up several steps from the main street, but you will find that all of baroque Modica is like that! From the front door, we could reach the Corso in 2 minutes and have our pick of cafès, restaurants, and churches. The little supermarket just round the corner had everything we needed for breakfast. We loved driving in the area surrounding Modica and greatly enjoyed Scicli (pure Montalbano scenery!) and the beaches at Sampieri and Marina di Modica. All in all a highly enjoyable stay. We will definitely recommend it to our friends and hope to return soon.
